Wars Inside Bodies

 Besieged,

Tom Luongo on the color revolution being carried out in the US. Thanks Eleni in Athens.
Act III of a color revolution is the most dangerous. It is the one where chaos can reign for months and the balance tipped by the slimmest of margins. But in the end it always comes down to the willingness of the people to decide their future.
Because taking down the U.S. is such a monumental undertaking they had to create a problem global in scale, COVID-19.
The U.S. has everything against it in this situation. The oligarchy and its quislings are firmly in command of the narrative. There are real, deep divisions to keep people fighting each other while the oligarchs proceed with their plans.
Trump is trying to marshal a counter-revolution on the ground and in the courts.

Former federal prosecutor Sidney Powell, a Trump campaign lawyer, suggested in a Sunday interview that there is still more evidence coming out in President Donald Trump’s claims of voter fraud and irregularities.
“We’re getting ready to overturn election results in multiple states,” Powell said, saying that she has enough evidence of election fraud to launch a widespread criminal investigation.
“I don’t make comments without having the evidence to back it up,” she added, saying that elections software switched “millions of votes” from Trump to Democratic nominee Joe Biden.
Powell notably provided legal counsel to Gen. Michael Flynn in 2019.
She was named to Trump’s legal team in the past several days.
Powell said a whistleblower came forward and said the elections software was designed to “rig elections,” saying that “he saw it happen in other countries,” referring to voting systems Dominion Voting Systems and Smartmatic, or perhaps other software and machines.
“We have so much evidence, I feel like it’s coming in through a fire hose,” Powell said, while noting that she won’t reveal the evidence that she has.
“They can stick a thumb drive in the [voting] machine, they can upload software to it even from the Internet … from Germany or Venezuela even,” she said, adding that operations “can watch votes in real-time” and “can shift votes in real-time,” or alleged bad actors can “remote access anything.”
“We’ve identified mathematically the exact algorithm they’ve used—and planned to use from the beginning” that allegedly switched votes to Biden, Powell remarked...

EXCLUSIVE: How a Philly mob boss stole the election — and why he may flip on Joe Biden
But an associate says that Merlino might just be willing to flip on Joe Biden and the Pennsylvania political operatives who ordered up some 300,000 election ballots marked for Biden.  The source alleges that Merlino and a lean team of associates manufactured those ballots at a rate of $10 per ballot — a whopping $3 million for three days of work.  They were then packaged into non-descript cardboard boxes and dropped off outside the Philadelphia Convention Center.

Trump's new Secretary of Defense Christopher Miller sent a late Friday memo to the entire Department of Defense workforce signaling what the administration will be up to in Trump's last weeks in office — a likely major US troop reduction, especially from the Middle East.
"We are not a people of perpetual war - it is the antithesis of everything for which we stand and for which our ancestors fought," Miller said in the memo, and emphasized that "All wars must end."
"Ending wars requires compromise and partnership. We met the challenge; we gave it our all. Now, it's time to come home."///

Fighting words from Jim Quinn:
Make no mistake. There was a master plan implemented by dark forces to steal this election, overriding the will of the American people. The anger of 70 million Americans is perfectly captured in the above quote from Mencken. If Trump and his allies are unable to prove fraud and overturn this sham of an election, myself and millions more will treat the Kamala Harris administration as illegitimate and do everything in our power to resist and insure its failure.

The Worm In The Machine
The very same plotline is repeated in several other Michigan counties heavily trending for the president in early voting and then swooning mysteriously for Mr. Biden after a four-hour break in action. How to account for this strange occurrence? The worm in the machine, perhaps: a simple algorithm (i.e., set of coded instructions) embedded in the Dominion vote tabulation software.

Watch This!  Dmitry Orlov (Russian)
There are times in my career as a collapse observer and systematizer when my running commentary can quite reasonably be pared down to just two words: “Watch this!” The current severe stage of the financial and economic collapse sequence that was initiated in 2008, which is being artificially masked (no pun intended) by the fake Covid “pandemic,” and now a hung and fraudulent US election on top of it is just such an occasion...
Let’s start with a quick jaunt down memory lane. I first realized that the USA was going to follow the general trajectory of the USSR back in 1995. I also immediately realized that the USSR was rather well prepared for collapse whereas the USA was about to be blindsided by it, and so, as a public service, I thought I should warn people.
https://cluborlov.blogspot.com/2020/11/watch-this.html

A drama is unfolding for Korea. President Donald Trump was a once in a generation chance for reunification on the East Asian peninsula, as President Ronald Reagan was for Germany almost half a century ago. With the victory of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, the pro-war tendency in America that goes back to President Harry Truman returns to power. The consequences for Korea and many other nations around the world will be terrible. It was Reagan himself, not the CIA man President George H.W. Bush, who followed him, who pushed for the first covert and then overt operation to bring the Berlin wall down. It was Reagan’s Jacksonian sense of independence and his personal charm that convinced a reluctant Soviet leadership and domestic administration apparatus alike to follow. Reagan did most of the job in his second term, after he had gained control – and had survived an assassination attempt.
Now the old British-American war networks that have dominated U.S. administration since the murder of President John F. Kennedy will take over again...
The popular contenders such as Senator Bernie Sanders (D-VT) and President Trump were axed away with the most unfair means to clear the path for Harris to reclaim control of the US for the war network. Harris’ career is also well planned ahead. The demented and corrupt Joe Biden, who is easy to manipulate and blackmail, is for some the perfect profile of a politician.

"The Great Reset" Already Happened, Charles Hugh Smith
The dual extremes of financialization and globalization created the 2008 bubble, and its collapse almost took down the entire global capital house of cards. Central banks, ultimately financed by the Fed to the tune of $29 trillion, twice the size of America's entire GDP, instituted The Great Reset under the usual guise of "emergency measures" which then became permanent policies.
The Great Reset led to the hyper-centralization of control over the global economy's money as central banks coordinated unprecedented money-printing and financial repression, which includes zero-interest rate policies (ZIRP), as the debt-bubble would pop if rates aren't nailed down to zero.
All the PR being spewed about The Great Reset is the final frantic flailing of a system that's drowning in its own excesses. The 50-year long era of the few enriching themselves as the expense of the many has ended, for the same reason eras of extreme exploitation always end--the elites got too greedy and overshot the economy's ability to sustain their rapidly expanding share of the income and wealth.
Put another way: the elites have cannibalized the system so thoroughly that there's nothing left to steal, exploit or cannibalize. The hyper-centralized global money control has run out of rope as the cheap oil is gone, debts have ballooned to the point there is no way they'll ever be paid down, and the only thing staving off collapse is money-printing, which holds the seeds of its own demise.

Building Back Better, A Respectable Conspiracy, Tessa Fights Robots
A conspiracy is an agreement between two or more individuals to work together toward a shared goal, without disclosing it—or its known or possible implications—to those outside the group. In that sense, our entire history is a collection of conspiracies...
Thus, once somebody is well-fed and financially secure a million times over, the desire to have more turns into a psychosis—which I believe is what we are dealing with today—psychosis on the highest level, plus a very sophisticated machine of manufacturing consent.
Thus, the project of “manufacturing consent” has been around for about a hundred years, notably starting with the legacy of Edward Bernays, the father of “public relations.”...
Psychologically, we are used to accepting certain conspiracies as “normal” and viewing other ones as totally insane. For example, we know not to believe commercials on TV—and we don’t get all that surprised when a particular product suddenly turns out to be bad for us. We expect brands—and politicians—to exaggerate the usefulness of their products and ideas and to downplay the harms. We all know about Big Tobacco. Many of us know about Teflon, sugar vs. fat, glyphosate, asbestos, and DDT—which were at some point marketed to us as “safe” and “beneficial.” We have no problem accepting that kind of a corporate conspiracy. We are also eager to believe that a foreign country could be potentially seeking our demise...
Where the mind stumbles in disbelief is the kind of “domestic” conspiracy whose plot puts us, proud Western citizens, in a position of pests who occupy or contaminate a coveted resource. We don’t like the conspiracies in which we are viewed in the same way a foreign invader views a local population or in a way the European settlers viewed the indigenous... We’re thinking, yeah, everyone is trying to pull the blanket toward themselves—but there are certain things that just don’t happen!
One really has to do a lot of massaging of the physical reality in order to fit this mess into a politically correct explanation. So, there has to be an international agenda—and it just so happens that all major Western leaders are suddenly singing in sweet unison about the Great Reset. They are!
https://tessa.substack.com/p/build-back-better-conspiracy

Look how reasonable Klaus Schwab is.
I don't see any details, but he wants capitalism to reform itself to be nice to everybody, and he's already working on it with a lot of the better, nicer capitalists.
No details yet. Soon..   (Thanks Travis).
Of course, we remain far from our goal of achieving a better global economic system for all. The Stakeholder Capitalism Metrics are just one of many initiatives that are needed to get to such an outcome—and time is quickly running out. But in a world where pessimism is increasingly the order of the day, and narrow and short-term self-interest is still alluring, initiatives like these demonstrate that a more inclusive and sustainable model is possible. It is up to us to replicate and follow such an approach. When that happens, those who follow the path of stakeholder capitalism will soon find that it leads to a more inclusive and sustainable economy for all.

Friday The 13th

 Feeling Lucky,

This is pretty brief this morning before dawn. It was clearly laid out that the Democratic camp would not concede the election at any time, and that votes that favored Trump early, would reverse late, and Biden would win.
The stated battle strategy was massive vote rigging, with a what'cha-gonna-do-about-it-? dare.
Well, if the judges in the rigged states are all rolled up, and the deep state is running the show, you pretty much have to lie there and get your face punched, don't you? That's a thing I remember. I never had any allies as a kid.

The Saker figures the Deep State will win again, but hedges that opinion:
Furthermore, as those familiar with Hegelian dialectics know, each action eventually results in a reaction and the notion that 70’000’000+ voters will simply accept what is self-evidently a coup against not only Trump, but also the US Constitution itself, is ridiculous. If anything, these people will now come to realize that while the US is facing no real foreign threats at all (except those it created itself), there is most definitely an internal threat, in the sense of the United States Uniformed Services Oath of Office, and that this reality gives them the right, and even duty, to “resist tyranny”.
You have probably heard Joe Biden declaring that he wants to heal the wounds, restore unity, rule for all US Americans and the like. I don’t think that this is only empty political rhetoric, though that is part of it too. Mostly, I believe that the Dems are terrified because they know for a fact that they stole the election and this is why after four years of the most divisive and irresponsible rhetoric against Trump, “the racist system” and all the rest of the crap, they are now making a 180 (they are experts at that!) and pleading for calm, peace and unity.
That ain’t going to happen.
Finally, a word to those who like to say that there is no difference between the Dems and the GOP, that this is all a fake conflict: friends, you are both right and massively wrong. You are right when you say that the DNC and the RNC are like indistinguishable twins. But what you are missing are two crucial things:
Factions inside one party can actually go after each other much harder than against their common enemies. I think of the SS vs the SA in Nazi Germany or the Trotskysts vs the Stalinists in the Soviet Union and during the Spanish Civil war.
But, even more crucially, this is not a contest between the Democrats and the Republicans, it is a contest between a “rejected outsider” and both the DNC and RNC!

Technocratic meddling has already destroyed or undermined cultural diversity, meaningful social connections and agrarian ecosystems that draw on centuries of traditional knowledge and are increasingly recognised as valid approaches to secure food security (for example, see Food Security and Traditional Knowledge in India in the Journal of South Asian Studies).
The massive technocratic transformation currently envisaged regards humans as commodities to be controlled and monitored just like the lifeless technological drones and AI being promoted.
But do not worry – you will be property-less and happy in your open prison of mass unemployment, state dependency, track and chip health passports, cashlessness, mass vaccination and dehumanisation.

Where We are Today

 Fellow Travelers,

Where are we in the progress of history, and why is John posting skanky right-wing tabloid blog crap?
We are into the terminal decline of fossil energy and the economy of exponential growth which it has fed. We were fed returns on our Ponzi scheme investments, but that has to end abruptly soon. Look where the 2020 red line would fall on this archaic 1972 computer projection of global human economy and environment:  http://ecoglobe.ch/sustain/e/ltg.htm

I wrote this up 3 years ago on the blog.
https://www.johndayblog.com/2017/09/worse-than-i-think.html

At this juncture of human history, as we proceed, we are about to step into a massive rupture in continuity. Wealth, property and livelihood will, inescapably be redefined, and people often fight to the death for what-is-rightfully-theirs in these epochs. The last time in my life that the will of the American people seemed to matter was in the rejection of the Vietnam war, and some of the aftermath of that in the years of taking down Nixon and demoting the CIA in the Church hearings. The deep state had to lie low, briefly under a center right president with softer hair, Jimmy Carter. Then the deep state was resurgent under Bush-Reagan, and the American people were just carried along for the ride.
The ride approaches the cliff of falling energy resources, falling tribute from the empire, and the collapse of the monetary/financial Ponzi scheme, which holds our retirement accounts.
The means-of-production which provide our groceries, electricity, gas, communications networks, and financial transactions depend on the Ponzi scheme. Disruptions will cascade in unpredictable ways, as points of failure are imposed within the system to shield powerful interests from losses, while imposing them on the weak (us).are not
When complex systems collapse, they collapse to the highest level of complexity that resource flows will support, or a little lower than that.
Upper layers of hierarchy are not sustainable, since they need to be fed by lower layers with excess production. That creates the elite power struggle to impose-losses on rival elite factions first, before letting the production economy fail. Bombing Iraq, Syria, Libya, and blockading Venezuela and Iran have done that. The big win was the imposition of losses upon the USSR in the 1980s, when oil prices plummeted, to cause it's collapse. (The corpse-feeding-frenzy was interrupted by an unknown apparatchik installed into power after Yeltsin-the-drunk, though.)
Essentially NOBODY in America has lived through a collapse, and those who have are either very old (Kissinger, Soros), Russian, Chinese or Vietnamese. They are America's brain trust, and I don't trust the first 2.
It's usually a bad sign when power elites really try hard to convince pawns like us of the righteousness of their causes.
It usually means a bloodbath is coming, and we are the ones who bleed, die and lose our livelihoods and property
We know that vegetable gardens are a big help to people trying to survive a collapse. Bicycles can do a lot when you have no gasoline, but really, it's the riders that have to be able to do it. Even bad roads can be ridden. Being a productive human in a community makes you worth keeping in the community. Some communities will have enough productivity and support to persist. Others, especially if they depend on outside flows of wealth and supplies, will fragment. Mostly fragment peacefully... Some power players may decide to feed upon your community.
Then what? It's best if you do not depend on things they can easily take, for your existence. They will take wheat, corn and beans. They will not typically take root crops like sweet potatoes. Just sayin', You can look this up, too. Yes have dried beans and rice and salt and cooking oin and onions and garlic and cheese and canned tomatoes. Know that guys with guns can and will take them, though...

Here is a global elite guy who is entitled to impose losses on you and me, because he is smart, sees the big picture, and knows that we need a new world order. Build Back Better!
In his book Covid-19: The Great Reset, World Economic Forum globalist Klaus Schwab asserts that the world will “never” return to normal, despite him admitting that coronavirus “doesn’t pose a new existential threat.”
“Many of us are pondering when things will return to normal,” writes Schwab. “The short response is: never. Nothing will ever return to the ‘broken’ sense of normalcy that prevailed prior to the crisis because the coronavirus pandemic marks a fundamental inflection point in our global trajectory.”

Tessa Fights Robots has a sore spot around propaganda, which brings me to the explanation of why I'm posting skanky right wing tabloid blog crap. Nobody else is covering the important power plays that we need to know about, which threaten us in the near future, the Great Reset.
First off, this is an existential post because the task at hand transcends politics. For clarity, and to get the political emotion out of the way, my politics is “human.” I am greatly appalled by the spectacle-at-large, by the cruelty and dishonesty of it, and I am not contributing any of my mental energy to the hyped and nerve-racking fight between competing parasites. By choice, I remain unmoved by the pressure to “sound smart,” according to the rules of the echo chamber. In my Soviet childhood, I have written enough mandatory cliché essays—full of talking points that a “smart child” would recite—to become allergic to propaganda for life. No propaganda please.

Caitlin Johnstone has a perspective on mass media torture:
In reality, though most of them probably did not realize it, this is what Americans were actually voting against when they turned out in record numbers to cast their votes. Not against Trump, but against this continued psychological abuse they've been suffering both directly and indirectly from the mass media. Against being bashed in the face by shrieking, hysterical bullshit that hurts their bodies and makes them feel crazy, and against the unpleasantness of having to interact with stressed-out compatriots who don't haven't been putting up well with the abuse.
It wasn't a "Get him out" vote, it was a "Make it stop" vote.

Now, shortly after the election, one of Biden’s top aides is ramping up calls for a crackdown on Facebook for allowing Facebook users to read views that he considers misleading — users who signed up to hear from these individuals.  Bill Russo, a deputy communications director on Biden’s campaign press team, tweeted late Monday that Facebook “is shredding the fabric of our democracy” by allowing such views to be shared freely...
For those of us in the free speech community, these threats are chilling. We saw incredible abuses before the election in Twitter barring access to a true story in the New York Post about Hunter Biden and his alleged global influence peddling scheme. Notably, no one in the Biden camp (including Biden himself) thought that it was a threat to our democracy to have Twitter block the story (while later admitting that it was a mistake).
I have previously objected to such regulation of speech. What is most disturbing is how liberals have embraced censorship and even declared that “China was right” on Internet controls. Many Democrats have fallen back on the false narrative that the First Amendment does not regulate private companies so this is not an attack on free speech. Free speech is a human right that is not solely based or exclusively defined by the First Amendment.  Censorship by Internet companies is a “Little Brother” threat long discussed by free speech advocates.  Some may willingly embrace corporate speech controls but it is still a denial of free speech.

John Brennan appears to call for a palace coup against Donald Trump:
Brennan & other spooks go full conspiracy theorist over suggestion ‘cornered’ Trump will indeed ‘DECLASSIFY EVERYTHING’
Brennan was concerned even as the pundit reminded him that Trump only had 70 days to leave the White House without leaving a smoking crater in his wake. “You can do a lot of damage in 70 days,” he hinted darkly, questioning whether the president was “going to carry out these vendettas against these other individuals.”
“It’s clear Donald Trump Is trying to exercise the power because he can, and he’s going to settle scores, but I’m very concerned about what he might do,” the spook-turned-Resistance stalwart mused, veering into projection territory with a suggestion that the president was “just very unpredictable. Right now he’s like a cornered cat” or “tiger” and was going to “lash out.”
Brennan may have quite a bit to fear should Trump decide to burn the intelligence agencies down on his way out of the White House.
Recently-declassified handwritten notes from the ex-CIA director suggest he and his agency knew there was no substance to Democrat Hillary Clinton’s campaign’s allegations the Trump campaign was colluding with Russia to steal the 2016 election – an explosive allegation that could prove key to prosecuting the scandal the president and his allies have come to refer to as “Spygate.”

Rupert Murdoch's New York Post, which recently released the Hunter Biden Story, bringing pressure upon Rupert, now has this:
Biden’s team considering legal action to force formal transition of power
The formal presidential transition doesn’t begin until the administrator of the federal General Services Administration ascertains the “apparent successful candidate” in the general election. Neither the Presidential Transition Act nor federal regulations specify how that determination should be made. That decision green lights the entire federal government’s moves toward preparing for a handover of power.
In 2000, the GSA determination was delayed until after the Florida recount fight was settled on Dec. 13. At the time, the administrator relied on an assessment from one of the drafters of the 1963 Presidential Transition Act that “in a close contest, the Administrator simply would not make the decision.”

Now for the big lawfare counterattack on the vote-rigging assault against American (deplorable Trump) voters:
Giuliani: Trump Campaign Has ’60 to 70 Witnesses’ Ready to Testify on Voter Fraud in Pennsylvania
Giuliani said the campaign’s evidence could change which candidate won in Pennsylvania, which is currently projected for Democratic nominee Joe Biden by a narrow margin.
“In Philadelphia, where we are furthest ahead, we have about 60 or 70 witnesses in Pennsylvania, Philadelphia and in Pittsburgh,” Giuliani said, according to WND.
“In Pittsburgh, we have observers who for 24 hours were kept out of the room or kept away from the room where they were counting the mail-in ballots, which of course are the highly suspicious ballots,” he added.
“During that period of time, at least 135,000 ballots were counted, none of which were observed by any Republican observer as the law requires.”
Giuliani claimed that bundles of mail-in ballots were brought in late.
“It looked very much like they were trying to make up the 700,000 difference that they had from election night,” he said.
Giuliani alleged another 300,000 ballots were counted while no GOP observers were allowed to watch.

On the ubiquity of voting fraud in America
(It is generally accepted that JFK clinched his 1960 win against Dick Nixon by Daddy Joe having rigged Pannsylvania.)
So being worried about voter fraud, and even suggesting it could alter the results of a US presidential election, is not outside the norm of US politics.
Before, I said that there are roughly 1,200 known cases of recent American voter fraud. Of course, this doesn’t tell us how common voter fraud really is because it could be that the vast majority of instances are never detected. County level analysis shows that there are at least 1.8 million excess registered voters relative to the eligible population size and this at least opens the door for the possibility of voter fraud on a truly massive scale (Judicial Watch, 2020).
More importantly, non-citizens in America report voting at rates that imply at least nearly a million cases of voter fraud per year. This suggests that only a tiny proportion of the voter fraud that takes place is normally caught and that fraud at a scale that can change elections is actually the norm.
https://ideasanddata.wordpress.com/2020/11/10/evidence-of-voter-fraud-in-the-2020-us-presidential-election/

This is a new twist. AI software decided which signatures were good, which mail in ballots to accept, in a lot of places. Whitney Webb
Though accusations of election fraud in the 2020 US presidential election have been swirling across social media and some news outlets for much of the past week, few have examined the role of a little known Silicon Valley company whose artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm was used to accept or reject ballots in highly contested states such as Nevada.
That company, Parascript, has long-standing cozy ties to defense contractors such as Lockheed Martin and tech giants including Microsoft, in addition to being a contractor to the US Postal Service. In addition, its founder, Stepan Pachikov, better known for cofounding the app Evernote in 2007, is a long-standing and 2020 donor to Democratic presidential candidates.
Parascript’s AI software was used during this election in at least eight states for matching signatures on ballot envelopes with those in government databases in order to “ease the workload of staff enforcing voter signature rules” resulting from the influx of mail-in ballots.

Do What You Can

 Ruminating Too Much,

We get a long time to think about things, or something like a month, anyway, so I'm arguing that we do so.
The main thing upon which our society is based is the means-of-production, that which makes our food and stuff and supplies our utilities, building materials, and so on.
Many of us have come to take the means of production as a given, assuming that it will remain always present and always adequate.
The US got a century of oil powered economy pasted onto a previous century of progressively coal-driven economy, and vast virgin forests, aquifers and mineral wealth. That was always enough to grow into until 1971 or so when US oil production peaked out. That same moment, the US ran low on gold, and defaulted on the dollar. The dollar and global oil were more intertwined than ever by 1985, and the seemingly endless economic growth resumed. Glad that's over. Thank you Mr Reagan!
I commented yesterday that Americans are to oil, as a fish is to water. We can use less gas, and we use less this year, but everything we have comes through gasoline, diesel and natural gas power to industry, transportation, mining, and synthesis of special substances that everything comes wrapped in.
We are in way over our heads and can't really think our way out of this box. We will have to do this step by step.
No top-down fix will work. It has to be each of us and all of us finding adaptations over this decade. Will our society change direction under totalitarianism, or will we do so with more local and personal autonomy? Each approach has strengths, totalitarianism might work better at first, but it might not, because we are starting in such a zombie-economy mess. In the medium to longer term, everybody at all e=levels of society working things out to self-reorganize our system of political economy is clearly the best way for our species to adapt to a world of declining fossil fuel and resources.

Peak oil – including from fracking and tar sands – finally occurred in 2018.  Hardly anyone noticed because – as happened in the USA in 1970 – everyone assumed that it would be a temporary blip.  Oil extraction in 2019 was not substantially lower than 2018; but there was no month in 2019 when extraction was higher than it had been in November 2018.  And, of course, in 2020 the world discovered more urgent issues to worry about.  Nevertheless, oil extraction – and oil demand – plummeted as a result of the various state responses to the pandemic.  Some wells will be shut permanently as the cost of reopening them is too high.  Others will reopen, but only if the price of oil rises considerably.  Pipelines and refineries will also have to be repaired.
https://consciousnessofsheep.co.uk/2020/11/06/the-narrative-problem-after-peak-oil/

The elites who own us and own the means of production and own the property and the politicians and the deep state had a plan that got a wench thrown in the works when some smart-asses un-fixed the 2016 election and we ended up with Donald Trump in the White House failing to go along with that plan. Can a plan work after a 4 year delay?
Do we human beings get to play a part in this massive economic reset?
Whoever the courts and electoral college decide is president, we will get something drastically less than what is being promised.
The tension is only beginning. Secure basic needs going forward.

Jim Kunstler:  One other thing: whoever occupies that office beginning in 2021 is going to face an overwhelming economic crisis. Oil production, which stood just under 13 million barrels-a-day at its peak November, 2019, is down over 2 million barrels a day now, and will be sinking to about 7 million barrels-a-day in 2021, which is far short of what we use. Shale oil is a bust. It costs too much to get out of the ground and the companies that put their mojo into shale can’t make any money at it, and can’t pay off their loans, and won’t get new loans to continue operations. So, the whole industry is going to shit. Oil is what has supported the US economy for a hundred years, and it’s over. Our attempt to compensate for that quandary by borrowing more and more money at every level is also drawing to a close. It will break the bond markets, the dollar, and the banks. This is the essence of the long emergency and we’re entering the heart of the storm now.
It will require a pretty thorough rearrangement of life in our country, mainly in downscaling everything we do and re-localizing productive activity as much as possible. This has absolutely nothing to do with race-and-gender issues or any of the other ideological horse-shit that has preoccupied the Left for more than a decade.

Stories I think we should consider are more and more marginalized in recent years, even recent days. The New York Times, Washington Post and Wall Street Journal carefully avoid important news for people, because it is counter to the interests of their elite owners.

Graphical analysis of sudden changes in mail-in ballot Trump-Biden ratio by time of counting are very easy to look at. Now, do I have a “thing” that freaks me out?
Yes. I am freaked out by technofascism, by the attack on nature, on privacy, on human contact, and on the physical world at large. I am freaked out by the attack on my ability to move around as I please, to have consensual physical interactions of any kind, on the sovereignty of my body, and on my right not to harm myself. Reflective In Gridlock

 Cloistered,

We're all trapped in a thought box. I can tell that I am.
The indecisiveness is torture. We reject it. We're irritated and impatient.
Whatever comes next will be no different, because the situation is no different.
That makes this an opportunity to pray for good. No format.
Just engage my heart into the mess and be with it, longing for good patterns to arise, that I can be part of.
Good and bad, and I can recognize 'em when I see 'em, often look a lot different than what I had imagined.
Here I am in purgatory, earnestly and patiently and lovingly longing for ways that I can help us all do better.

Our Imperial Presidency,  Charles Hugh Smith    {"We have always been at war with Eastasia."}
Regardless of who holds the office, America's Imperial Project and its Imperial Presidency are due for a grand reckoning.
While elections and party politics generate the emotions and headlines, the truly consequential change in American governance has been the ascendancy of the Imperial Presidency over the past 75 years, since the end of World War II.
As commander-in-chief of the armed forces, the Constitution grants the President extraordinary but temporary powers in wartime. With the power to declare war granted solely to Congress, this dangerous (in the Founders' view) expansion of Executive power was tolerated because it was temporary and necessary in the fast-moving emergency of war...
The extraordinary powers granted to President Roosevelt in World War II did not expire at the end of the war. Rather, the powers of the presidency expanded along with the National Security agencies which rose to unprecedented power in the Cold War era of 1945 - 1991. The entire alphabet soup of the National Security State--CIA, NSA, DIA, etc.--serve the president, not Congress, which has been relegated the role of toothless oversight.
{Really, they serve themselves and their hidden dark lords, now.}

Craig Murray assumes a Biden win, with mixed thoughts and emotions:
I know that many of my readers will be triumphant at the departure of Trump. I can understand that. From the viewpoint of US domestic policy and particularly attitudes to social division, race and immigration, the end of Trump’s cynical manipulation of atavistic instinct among the electorate will be in itself a good thing. This has not been a healthy period in US politics.
But Trump has not been defeated by a Bernie Sanders; he has been defeated by a corrupt political hack backed to the hilt by the large majority of the billionaire owned media, financed out of Wall street and with no intention of pursuing anything other than neo-liberal economic policies. It is also the firm re-establishment of the rule of the security state and the military-industrial complex. Trump’s instinctive isolationism made him an enemy of the security state interest which spent a great deal of time in trying to undermine its President.
With Biden we will return to business as usual, and that means war and invasions. Under Trump we have had no new wars started, even if he continued old ones with little control. Without Trump, I have not the tiniest doubt that Syria would have been bombed back to the Stone Age, exactly like Libya, and millions more people would have been killed. Irrespective of the undoubted damage Trump has caused inside the United States across many fronts, Hillary would have killed a lot more people. Just not Americans.

That's not a bug, it's a feature of all the specific local and regional and personal, competent and incompetent, human and A.I. Vote Rigging.
The U.S. Inability To Count Votes is a National Disgrace. And Dangerous.  Glenn Greenwald
Nations far poorer and less technologically advanced have no problem holding quick, efficient elections.
Distrust in U.S. outcomes is dangerous but rational.

Caitlin Johnstone:
All the hours of post-electoral analysis you’re about to hear are just mental gymnastics to avoid confronting one very simple fact: that the way the Democratic Party has been securing funding is incompatible with securing votes. That’s the only correct answer to the question of what went wrong for the Democrats this year. They court wealthy donors who in exchange demand policies which hurt ordinary Americans. Ignore all answers besides this one.
It’s not because of inadequate outreach to this or that demographic. It’s not because of racism. It’s not because of being too “woke”. It’s not because of the Electoral College or gerrymandering. It’s because Democratic donors advance interests which hurt the Democratic base, which naturally makes the base disinclined to vote for them.
People simply are not going to support a party which does not advance their interests. If the Democratic Party were obtaining material benefits for people, they would dominate the US government. But that would mean taking things away from the donor class, so it’s been a no-go. Meanwhile the donor class is never going to support a party which acts against its interests. Getting enough votes and getting the support of wealthy elites are therefore mutually exclusive endeavors. You cannot have both. Dems will keep struggling with votes until they figure this out...
The idea that everything will be fine once Trump’s gone is more dangerous than Trump.
There’s no point telling the Democratic establishment that Bernie would have won. They know Bernie would have won. That’s why they stopped him.

Brandon Smith sticks by his cheery prediction:
Just as I successfully predicted the outcome of the 2016 election months in advance, my predictions on the 2020 election are now coming to pass. In July of this year in my article ‘Election 2020: The Worst Case Scenario Is The Most Likely One’, after I outlined the strange factors surrounding Biden and Trump, I stated that:
“These factors and more lead me to predict that Election 2020 will be a contested election which ends with Trump staying in office but accused of usurping the democratic process. This outcome is the worst possible outcome and also the most advantageous for the globalist establishment.”

I also noted the predictive programming campaign by the media and members of the Council On Foreign Relations like Max Boot to acclimated the public to the idea of a contested election while also “wargaming” (planning) that exact outcome...
Trump has said he will take the results to the Supreme Court and there is no doubt that recounts will be held in states like Michigan and Arizona. I continue to predict that Trump will stay in office despite the close election. I also predict that numerous fake ballots will be discovered during recounts only throwing gasoline on the fire and implicating Democrats in certain districts with fraud. Social justice leftists will surely try to riot in response, and Trump will call for martial law if the current scenario plays out as I expect.
The leftists will NOT accept the results of a Supreme Court decision in favor of Trump.
Conservatives WILL NOT accept a Biden presidency.

I continue to wonder if Long-COVID is caused by persistence of viral infection in some small proportion of cells in some people. I get asked, "wouldn't they have found that by now?" "How would they find that" , I respond. Knowledge arises through process, and we are talking about cutting open human bodies to take specimens here, living humans. Not my body, please... Some people die and get autopsies, often focusing on the lungs, though we know this virus infects cells of the arterial lining, leading to clots, strokes, heart attacks and lung failure. I noticed this.
The research, published in the journal Lancet eBioMedicine, also found the virus itself was still present in many types of cells.

The Lancet article, excerpted:
Persistence of viral RNA, pneumocyte syncytia and thrombosis are hallmarks of advanced COVID-19 pathology
Pneumocytes and endothelial cells contained viral RNA even at the later stages of the disease. An additional feature was the common presence of a large number of dysmorphic pneumocytes, often forming syncytial elements (36/41, 87%). Despite occasional detection of virus-positive cells, no overt signs of viral infection were detected in other organs, which showed non-specific alterations.

One vaccine is already found to be helpful in COVID Pneumonia, when you're already sick with it, the good old tuberculosis vaccine, BCG.
Bacillus Calmette Guerin (BCG) is widely used in national vaccination programs worldwide. It is accepted that BCG alleviates both pathogen and allergy induced respiratory diseases that could also include Covid-19. To investigate this possibility, we randomly assigned 60 Covid-19 patients, after admission to the hospital with pneumonia and requirement for oxygen therapy in a 1:1 ratio to receive either a single adult dose of intradermal BCG or normal saline with concomitant standard of care (SoC) medications. Primary endpoints were favorable prognosis of Covid-19 as deduced from resolution of pneumonia, viremia and secondary outcome were enumeration of ICU admissions, duration thereof and mortalities. Results Both primary and secondary endpoints were significantly improved in the BCG+SoC group. This could be seen from reduction in oxygen requirement due to Covid-19 associated pneumonia decreasing from day 3-4, improved radiological resolution from day 7-15. There were a total of 6 (10%) adverse events in the study of which 2 deaths and 4 ICU admissions were in SoC group (1 ICU admission culminated in death of the subject) and in contrast only 1 ICU admission in the BCG+SoC group. While there was an increase in Covid-19 specific IgG levels in the BCG+SoC group, there was no evidence of BCG induced cytokine storm in this group

Beyond Bush Gore 2020

 Still Alive,

Nate Hagens gives his state of the world report. I've been wondering what Nate was up to.
Increasingly I think it’s not oil nor finance, nor social disruption that is our core risk but declining returns to complexity. Historian Joseph Tainter famously studied how ancient civilizations collapsed due to the inability of resources/productivity to keep pace with complexity. In today’s world, this can be seen in myriad ways, from the unemployment software in US States being written in COBOL and FORTRAN, to APIs for majority of our medicines made in India and China...
If you took a poll and asked people what the single biggest casualty was from the pandemic, very few people would respond with ‘oil’.  But no matter who wins the election, US oil production, including shale oil, is about to fall off a cliff, with massive consequences for society. For the setup of our modern way of life, oil is effectively our hemoglobin – and the COVID arrow hit at the heart of the industry as market prices are far below what it costs to extract oil from the ground.  Yet this is all invisible to most people as the media (and economics departments) still conflate price with cost and cost with value...

Lost in the discussions of Republicans vs Democrats, stimulus, PPP, COVID statistics, stock market gyrations and geopolitics is perhaps the most important story of all – the state of Earth’s ecosystems and the ~10 million species we share the planet with. They are ‘downstream’ of our elections and financial/economic systems, but none of them have a vote.
I have concluded that natural systems and species futures – for better or worse – are linked to human futures – we have to ‘bend not break’ to have the best outcome for (most) Earth Systems (other than perhaps oceans and very remote species).  I believe humans are not any better or worse than we were 100 years, 1000 years or 100,000 years ago – there are just more of us so our impact is (much) larger and each and every one of us consuming much more resources than our ancestors did. Humans are good at heart but we are biological organisms following cultural goals that have expiry dates.  We have arrived at a ‘species level’ juncture and need to use systems science, reason, discourse, and leadership to navigate a glide path to intact futures...
We all have ‘conditional’ goals, those which rely on something external to us to change in order to succeed. Many of those goals will not get met because external conditions prevent them – perhaps the ‘guy who we didn’t vote for’ winning the election. The key is to also find “unconditional” goals – those which we ourselves can be 100% responsible for. That way we can feel more empowered to reach those goals, which many times can influence the conditional goals in positive ways.  Growing food, spending time with your neighbors, learning a new (useful to the future) skill, mutual aid, etc.  The key for all of us – is to meet the future halfway.

Michael Hudson looks at another economic model of "money" to serve the needs of society.
When Polanyi called money a fictitious commodity, he was rejecting the idea of making it scarce by limiting its supply to that of gold, mimicking commodities as if money were part of a barter system. It also gave creditors overwhelming power over the rest of the economy, especially over its labor and land by pushing wage levels and crop prices below basic break-even needs when governments were deprived of the ability to create credit to employ labor. He criticized Ricardo for having ‘indoctrinated nineteenth-century England with the conviction that the term ‘money’ meant a medium of exchange,’ with bank notes readily convertible into gold (ibid: 196). That policy led to deflation, given gold’s limited supply. Falling prices and wages penalized debtors when countries returned to gold convertibility after wartime inflations. That occurred in Britain after 1815, and in the United States after the 1870s when it sought to roll back prices so that the price of gold – and hence, wages and commodity prices – would be driven back down to their pre-Civil War level. The result was prolonged economic depression, causing land and other property to be transferred from debtors to creditors...
‘Land, labor and money are obviously not commodities,’ he explained. Labor is life, and ‘land is only another name for nature.’...
Polanyi’s preferred alternative was to make money serve social aims by making it a public creation of law. Such token money has no inherent cost of production, ‘but comes into being through the mechanism of banking or state finance,’ and thus is not a commodity with an ultimate labor cost of production: ‘actual money, finally, is merely a token of purchasing power which, as a rule, is not produced at all but comes into being through the mechanism of banking or state finance’ (Ibid: 72).
Polanyi’s Austrian adversaries argued that public money creation, social spending programs, regulations and subsidies distorted the supposedly efficient ‘natural’ economy of price-setting markets. In practice this meant low wages and a transfer of land to the wealthy. Unregulated market forces and gain seeking led the social system to be run for the purely financial aim of ‘maximum money gains,’ subjecting land, labor and money to pro-creditor bias instead of favoring the population’s indebted majority. It was to prevent this economic polarization and austerity, Polanyi claimed, that ‘Regulation and markets … grew up together.’ Trade and incomes were regulated for most of history, thanks to the fact that, ‘As a rule, the economic system was absorbed in the social system.’ (ibid: 68)...
To allow the market mechanism to be the sole director of the fate of human beings and their natural environment, indeed, even of the amount and use of purchasing power, would result in the demolition of society. … the market administration of purchasing power would periodically liquidate business enterprise, for shortages and surfeits of money would prove as disastrous to business as floods and droughts in primitive society. (Ibid: 73)...
Mutual aid and its associated constraints on profiteering were preconditions for survival. Chiefs were expected to be openhanded, protecting the weak and needy...
Polanyi summarized his hope that society would cure itself from having disembedded markets from their social context by restoring ‘shapes reminiscent of the economic organization of earlier times.’ Society needed to re-embed market structures for goods and services by administering key prices and incomes in a new redistributive economy. Such redistribution ‘presupposes the presence of an allocative center in the community,’ a palace or temple in earlier times, democratic government offices in today’s world...
Royal Clean Slate proclamations of ‘justice and equity’ annulled the backlog of grain taxes and other agrarian debts, liberated bondservants and restored land forfeited by smallholders. (I provide a history of such acts in ‘… and forgive them their debts’: Lending, Forfeiture and Redemption, From Bronze Age Finance to the Jubilee Year [ISLET 2018]). This preserved a free citizenry to serve in the army and provide corvée labor instead of falling into permanent debt bondage to non-official creditors...
Societies would have succumbed to bondage and monopolization of the land millennia ago they had viewed ‘free markets’ to mean the sanctity of personal debts being paid. Rome was the first major society not to cancel agrarian and personal debts. For its oligarchy, the ‘sanctity of property’ meant a license to foreclose on the self-support land and other property of debtors...
Mainstream economists treat credit (and implicitly, arrears as well as loans) as always being productive and helpful, not as extractive and socially destabilizing. They depict government intervention to annul debts as leading to economic crisis, not as saving populations from impoverishment and disorder. This doctrinaire approach ignores the fact that, in practice, the ‘security of debt’ meant making ancient debtors falling into arrears liable to lose their land and personal liberty. This meant insecurity of their property rights. That is the real crisis...
Depicting credit and the financial business plan as having only positive economic effects produces a travesty of history. Viewing debt and its interest charges simply as a bargain between individuals fails to recognize how the economy-wide debt burden tends to grow beyond the ability to be paid...
Throughout history debt has been the major lever privatizing land and reducing populations to bondage. Mesopotamia managed to delay this polarizing dynamic by subordinating creditor rights to the aim of dynastic survival. But classical Greece and Rome lacked the tradition of royal Clean Slates. That was the great turning point. Livy, Plutarch and Diodorus described how debt disenfranchised the Roman population...
‘Free market’ advocates pick up the thread of Western civilization ‘in the middle,’ only after credit, debt and property relations became disembedded and decontextualized from the checks and balances that sustained the Near Eastern takeoff. It is as if the Bronze Age agrarian debt cancellations were a blind alley...
The distinctive feature of Western economies is privatization of credit, land natural and public infrastructure. That is the real detour from earlier millennia. Archaic societies treated land required for subsistence as a basic right for their citizenry...
We can now see that there is no assurance that societies automatically evolve onward and upward. Such determinism focuses on potential – what economies could achieve if they use all knowledge to best advantage. Warlords, creditors, landlords and monopolists have deprived populations of the fruits of technological potential throughout history...
Polanyi’s contribution to social history demonstrates the need to regulate finance, land and labour markets in an overall social context in order to maintain prosperity instead of impoverishment...
The financial takeover of government policy reflects a business plan of asset stripping and economy wide austerity.

Another DIA document from Oct 2012 (also released in May 2015), reported that Gaddafi’s vast arsenal was being shipped from Benghazi to two Syrian ports under the control of the Syrian rebel groups.
Essentially, the DIA documents were reporting that the Obama Administration was supporting Islamist extremism, including the Muslim Brotherhood.

When the watchdog group Judicial Watch received the series of DIA reports through Freedom of Information Act lawsuits (FOIA) in May 2015, the State Department, the Administration and various media outlets trashed the reports as insignificant and unreliable.
There was just one problem; Lt. Gen. Flynn was backing up the reliability of the released DIA reports.
Lt. Gen. Flynn as Director of the DIA from July 2012 – Aug. 2014, was responsible for acquiring accurate intelligence on ISIS’s and other extremist operations within the Middle East, but did not have any authority in shaping U.S. military policy in response to the Intel the DIA was acquiring.
In a July 2015 interview with Al-Jazeera, Flynn went so far as to state that the rise of ISIS was the result of a “willful decision,” not an intelligence failure, by the Obama Administration...
Flynn was essentially stating (in the 47 minute interview) that the United States was fully aware that weapons trafficking from Benghazi to the Syrian rebels was occurring. In fact, the secret flow of arms from Libya to the Syrian opposition, via Turkey was CIA sponsored and had been underway shortly after Gaddafi’s death in Oct 2011. The operation was largely run out of a covert CIA annex in Benghazi, with State Department acquiescence...
Flynn was taken out before he had a chance to even step into his office, prevented from doing any sort of overhaul with the intelligence bureaus and Joint Chiefs of Staff, which was most certainly going to happen. Instead Flynn was forced to resign on Feb. 13th, 2017 after incessant media attacks undermining the entire Trump Administration, accusing them of working for the Russians against the welfare of the American people...
The question thus stands; in whose best interest is it that no peace be permitted to occur in the Middle East and that U.S.-Russian relations remain verboten? And is such an interest a friend or foe to the American people?

New Yorker article on how COVID-19 "hacks the immune system" is well written. Here is the core of it:
TenOever’s team quickly discovered that sars-CoV-2 was uncannily good at disrupting cellular programming. A typical virus replaces less than one per cent of the software in the cells it infects. With sars-CoV-2, tenOever said, about sixty per cent of the RNA in an infected cell is of viral origin—“which is the highest I’ve ever seen. Polio comes close.” Among other things, the virus rewires the alarm system that cells use to warn others about infection. Normally, as part of what is known as the “innate” immune response—so called because it is genetically hardwired, and not tailored to a specific pathogen—a cell sends out two kinds of signals. One signal, carried by molecules called interferons, travels to neighboring cells, telling them to build defenses that slow viral spread. Another signal, transmitted through molecules called cytokines, gets a message to the circulatory system’s epithelial lining. The white blood cells summoned by this second signal don’t just eat invaders and infected cells; they also gather up their dismembered protein parts. Elsewhere in the immune system, these fragments are used to create virus-specific antibodies, as part of a sophisticated “adaptive” response that can take six or seven days to develop.
Usually, the viruses that humans care about are successful because they shut down both of these signalling programs. The coronavirus is different. “It seems to block only one of those two arms,” tenOever told me. It inhibits the interferon response but does nothing about the cytokines; it evades the local defenses but allows the cells it infects to call for reinforcements. White blood cells are powerful weapons: they arrive on an inflammatory tide, destroying cells on every side, clogging up passages with the wreckage. They are meant to be used selectively, on invaders that have been contained in a small area. With the coronavirus, they are deployed too widely—a carpet bombing, rather than a surgical strike. As they do their work, inflammation distends the lungs, and debris fills them like a fog.

The Panbio SARS-CoV-2 Point of Care rapid test device is 100% specific and 80% sensitive, compared to nasal PCR swab.
None of the 20% that it "missed" grew virus in cell-culture, so were clinically-false-positives, which could not cause infection (likely viral debris).
Can we please get everybody immediate rapid testing and treatment on demand this winter?
