Cancer Culture

 Deviously Undermined,

Jessica Rose Ph.D. has an article on epigenetics, on how genes are selectively expressed and suppressed in our bodies. Here is the high point.
Cancer is basically the epigenetic modification of the p53 tumor suppressor gene: the guardian of the genome. I love that: the guardian of the genome. I should actually be called p43.7, I think. I guess p53 is catchier.
The p53 protein not only enforces the stability of the genome by the prevention of genetic alterations in cells but also plays a role in regulating the epigenetic changes that can occur in cells.¹³
p53 suppresses tumor formation by regulating DNA repair. The impairment of this regulation can lead to cancer through loss of regulation of cell cycle. Its reintroduction into cancer cells, induces cell cycle arrest in the cancer cell. Expression levels, like everything in biology, is very important. Over expression of p53 can result in too much apoptosis (programmed cell death), and under expression can result in cancer.¹⁴ Epigenetic factors can affect p53 expression levels.¹⁵ ¹⁶ ¹⁷ ¹⁸ ¹⁹ They can also affect other DNA damage repair elements and their regulation.
A brilliantly frightening and frighteningly brilliant paper was published in October, 2021 in the journal Viruses entitled “SARS-CoV-2 Spike Impairs DNA Damage Repair and Inhibits V(D)J Recombination In Vitro”²⁰. When you read it, and you should read it, you will learn something very disturbing: the authors found that the spike protein was abundant in the nuclei of study cells. The nucleus is where most DNA repair occurs. They found that spike protein significantly suppressed both homologous recombination (HR) and non-homologous end joining (NHEJ) repair mechanisms. These are essential components to DNA repair and proper functioning in adaptive immunity (T and B cells). But even more scary, they found that the spike protein directly affects DNA repair in the nucleus by interfering with double-stranded DNA break (DSB) repair.

PfizerGate: Official Government Reports prove Hundreds of Thousands of People Are Dying Every Single Week Due to COVID-19 Vaccination
..Covid-19 injections are killing hundreds of thousands of people every single week. For instance, the UK Government has confirmed fully vaccinated young adults are 92% more likely to die than unvaccinated young adults (see here).
They’ve also confirmed COVID vaccinated children are at least 4423% more likely to die of any cause & 13,633% more likely to die of COVID-19 than unvaccinated children (see here).
But the most damning evidence of all lies in 4 simple facts.
Fact No.1: Medicine Regulators have been forced to admit the Covid-19 vaccine can damage the heart.
Fact No.2: Record-breaking numbers of people are requesting an ambulance due to conditions affecting the heart.
Fact No.3: Hundreds of thousands of excess deaths are being recorded around the world on a weekly basis, but only a small minority can be attributed to Covid-19.
Fact No.4: Age-standardised mortality rates are lowest among the unvaccinated population in every single age group.

I have been saying this for over a year, since this data was leaked. I advised every pregnant woman to avoid the vaccines and to take 5000 units per day of vitamin-D.
44 Percent of Pregnant Women in Pfizer Trial Lost Their Babies; FDA and CDC Recommended Jabs For Expectant Mothers Anyway

The Pfizer data remain incomplete, and I'm sure Pfizer wants them to. Some UK data is detailed here.

However, our analysis proved that these numbers were extremely misleading due to the fact that of the 827 completed pregnancies, 700 / 86% of the women had received a dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna Covid-19 vaccine during the third trimester of pregnancy, meaning it was impossible for them to suffer a miscarriage due to the fact they can only occur prior to week 20 of pregnancy.
This meant that just 127 women received either the Pfizer or Moderna Covid-19 vaccine during the first/second trimester, with 104 of the woman sadly losing their baby.
Therefore the rate of incidence of miscarriage was 82%, not 12.6% as presented in the findings of the study, and the authors of the study have since admitted that they made a mistake, issuing a correction six months too late because the study has been used to justify Covid-19 vaccination of pregnant women and new mothers around the world.

Charles Hugh Smith, Deglobalization Is Inflationary   Charles goes on to say that it's bad for corporate profits, too. Prices were held down by moving manufacturing and pollution to China, Mexico and Vietnam, but profits skyrocketed. The reverse situation will reduce profits, increase prices, and move manufacturing and pollution back to the western countries, like the US, which have environmental protection laws and worker's rights. (All this as we go into another iteration of oil prices too high for consumers and industry but too low for producers.)   https://www.oftwominds.com/blogaug22/globalization-inflationary8-22.html

Oil production is at something of a limit globally, with prices going up and down as people can and can't afford gasoline, and draws on the big holding areas, like Cushing Oklahoma, following consumer demand up and down as prices go down and up. It's jittery, like 2008. What happened right after the expensive-oil-jitters?

This article says, yes, of course Ukrine will be partitioned, as the author has been saying for 6 years. The bigger question is that of Russia's war with the distributed western oligarchic financialized capitalist system, a resource-extracting system, which is "not agreement capable", because no entity can guaranty the cessation of attacks by the other oligarchs and their minions. The war is not between Russia and Ukraine, or NATO, or the US or EU, but between financial regimes. Russia champions a new regime, almost alone, and will have to do so for-the-duration of the war, until the western neoliberal financial system collapses. Othe countries like China, Iran, Turkey and India will continue to take cae=reful steps as the situation becomes more certain, and supporting their national interests.
Will the Ukraine be partitioned next and, if so, how?

Turkey and Syria used to have "brotherly" relations, very good, until US/NATO/Israel decided to destabilize and regime-change Syria, and got Turkey/Erdogan on board. It didn't work, and the same team that tried to get rid of Assad tried a coup/murder plot against Erdogan, which did not work because Putin warned him just in time to save himself. Now there is a Russian/Syrian/Turkish peace process beginning. I hope it does well. Everybody can do better than they have been doing lately.

Turkish shelling of Syrian Kurdish positions has reportedly killed and wounded civilians including a 14-year old child. And a series of airstrikes have hit Syrian government border posts, killing 17. Power Struggle

 Somebody's Assets,

There is a power struggle going on globally, well, a lot of power struggles in the world, because of the declining carbon-based economy, gamed by corrupt skimming, and the loss of control by the corrupt skimmers, largely the globalist faction, but the rest of them, too.
The globalists need to take the skim from trade between nations, which is what nations used to do with taxes on imports.
They do this to hollow out national economies and impoverish workers and industries, not beef them up like Teddy Roosevelt did.
  You can see the trajectories.
The globalists need to put on the turbo boost as the productive economies, especially food producers speed downward into oblivion.
Getting rid of most of the people slowly, in a controlled-cull, is the new quiet globalist imperative.
Save the planet and their jet fuel.
There sure is a problem with unlimited industrial growth, but turning Holland and Ireland into Sri Lanka (fertilizer-free agriculture experiment) will do what it did to Sri Lanka.
One must assume this is intentional at this point.

I am growing veggies, driving a 24 year old 4 cylinder Ford Ranger pick-up when I need to haul things, and we have a couple of little economy cars 13 and 14 years old that we can use.
I’ve been a bike-commuter for 16 years.
None of this was forced upon me.
Your mileage may vary, but we need to openly face our problems and work on a lot of local and personal and family strategies to use less stuff.
Everything else pertains to this.  (Today's list follows.)

A New Pandemic 2022  , Dr. Marian Laderoute
This fall pandemic is the pandemic of COVID-vaccine side effects, disability and immune system impairment, not just strokes, heart attacks and cardiomyopathy that we already see. This article calls for an exponential rise in impairment, disability and death this fall and winter, lagging the recent rounds of first and second "boosters" and going into the sicker months of winter, with low vitamin-D levels and indoor congregating.

The WHO and Bill Gates made deals with india to shut up completely about what was working so well, and they did shut up, but they mostly used ivermectin-based treatment against Delta-COVID, except for 2 provinces that did not, and had lots of hospitalizations and deaths. Pierre Kory MD
The Miracle Not-Heard Around The World: The Success of Uttar Pradesh - Part 3
While Uttar Pradesh was "quietly" eradicating COVID, India adopted ivermectin nationally to combat the disastrous Delta wave. The impact of that decision is the world's 2nd biggest criminal secret.

This military physician has a compelling storyof the cover-up of vaccine side efects. Recall that the military is in the business of killing people to achieve stated objectives. That's normal. Just business. Getting vaccinated was a loyalty test, an expensive, sometimes deadly loyalty test for the US military.
Dr. Long testified that she was contacted by high level officer the night before the hearing, and told not to discuss her findings regarding the explosive military medical data in court. The whistleblower reportedly said she felt threatened after she tried to get her superiors to address the findings, “fearing for her life and for the safety of her children.”

Food, Dispossession and Dependency.  Resisting the New World Order by Colin Todhunter
We are currently seeing an acceleration of the corporate consolidation of the entire global agri-food chain. The high-tech/big data conglomerates, including Amazon, Microsoft, Facebook and Google, have joined traditional agribusiness giants, such as Corteva, Bayer, Cargill and Syngenta, in a quest to impose their model of food and agriculture on the world...
Of course, the billionaire interests behind this try to portray what they are doing as some kind of humanitarian endeavour – saving the planet with ‘climate-friendly solutions’, ‘helping farmers’ or ‘feeding the world’. In the cold light of day, however, what they are really doing is repackaging and greenwashing the dispossessive strategies of imperialism...
Alternatives to this model are then discussed which focus on organic agriculture and specifically agroecology. However, there are barriers to implementing these solutions, not least the influence of global agri-capital in the form of agritech and agribusiness conglomerates which have captured key institutions.
The discussion then moves on to focus on the situation in India because that country’s ongoing agrarian crisis and the farmers’ struggle encapsulates what is at stake for the world.
Finally, it is argued that the COVID-19 ‘pandemic’ is being used as cover to manage a crisis of capitalism and the restructuring of much of the global economy, including food and agriculture.

Just stop feeding 2/3 of the people in the world? Isn't there some less severe way for humans to make long term agricultural adjustments?
U.N. War On Fertilizer Began in Sri Lanka
UN Environment Programme launched its anti-fertilizer efforts from Sri Lanka in 2019
But today the world is in its worst food crisis since 2008. The number of people suffering acute food insecurity increased by 25% since January 2022 to 345 million, according to the United Nations World Food Programme. Why, then, is the UNEP trying to steer nations away from fertilizers that increase food production?
The UNEP’s Acting Director in 2019 said the reason was humankind’s “long-term interference with the Earth’s nitrogen balance.” In October of that year, the UNEP hosted a meeting in the capital of Sri Lanka, Colombo and issued a “road map” to push nations to cut nitrogen pollution in half.
But the Netherlands proves that nations can slash nitrogen pollution from livestock by 70% while also increasing meat production. Same for crops. Since the early 1960s, the Netherlands has doubled its yields while using the same amount of fertilizer. While rich nations produce 70 percent higher yields than poor nations, they use just 54 percent more nitrogen (fertilizer).

This is just weird. I hardly knew where to place it. The Spanish government decided to copy Chinese spraying of disinfectants on the streets, but from the skies.
The Spanish government ordered [April 16, 2020, a month after March 2020 lockdown] the military to quietly spray lethal chemtrails on its citizens with UN authorization under the cover of the “state of emergency for the management of the health crisis situation caused by Covid-19.“
The chemtrail program, which involves the spraying of biocides on the population, was authorized by Royal Decree, was quietly acknowledged by the government on April 16 2020, just one month after the World Health Organization announced that Covid-19 was a pandemic.

Henry Kissinger has always spoken for Rockefeller interests, and this is what he is saying.
Former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger has told the Wall Street Journal that Washington has rejected traditional diplomacy, and in the absence of a great leader, has driven the world to the precipice of war over Ukraine and Taiwan...
“We are at the edge of war with Russia and China on issues which we partly created, without any concept of how this is going to end or what it’s supposed to lead to,” Kissinger said in the interview, published on Saturday.
Kissinger, now 99 years old, elaborated on the West’s role in the Ukraine conflict in a recent book profiling prominent post-WWII leaders. He described Russia’s decision to send troops into the country in February as motivated by its own security, as having Ukraine join NATO would move the alliance’s weapons to within 300 miles (480km) of Moscow. Conversely, having Ukraine in its entirety fall under Russian influence would do little to “calm historic European fears of Russian domination.” ...
Kissinger stood by his insistence that the West should have taken Russian President Vladimir Putin’s security demands seriously, and made it clear that Ukraine would not be accepted into NATO alliance...
Kissinger argued that the US should seek “equilibrium” between itself, Russia, and China.
This term refers to “a kind of balance of power, with an acceptance of the legitimacy of sometimes opposing values,”
Kissinger explained. “Because if you believe that the final outcome of your effort has to be the imposition of your values, then I think equilibrium is not possible.” ...
According to Kissinger, the US is no longer in a position to side with either Russia or China against the other. “All you can do is not to accelerate the tensions and to create options, and for that you have to have some purpose,” he said.

Caitlin Johnstone; more colorful:   Modern US Warmongering Is Scaring Henry Kissinger

Sun Tzu, in the Daoist military classic, Art Of War, said, "when your enemy is defeating himself, do not interfere". This does not mean you don't have your own internally destructive dynamics, as China certainly does. I'll suggest that we look at American domestic politics from a long Chinese view. There is an internal factional power struggle, which has more than two interest groups. We might look at Democrats representing Globalist interests, but there are exceptions. Republicans are more "diverse" in this regard. Romney Republicans are crypto-globalist financiers, with vested interest in the "unipolar-world" flavor of globalism, but have their bets hedged. They certainly favor big-oil global interests over nationalized oil companies. They favor big military, as long as it can be funded, because it "defends" their globalist interests in poor countries with oil and resources.
It is weird to see Kissinger, representing Rockefeller interests of global banking and big oil, advocating for the multipolar world peace now, but it is rational". It's the best that can be negotiated, and it's better than a cult of mass suicide. Henry-the-K notably spoke of the leadership vacuum in the US. He's obviously not particular, but there has to be a national leader with the vested power to negotiate agreements and assure that they will be kept. The Cheney/Bush regime was the last to be able to do this.
The shenanigans around Donald Trump provide a focal point for this melee. It continues to be desperate-skirmishes, which may be consolidating public-opinion contituencies. This is desperate poilitical theater. there is suddenly more talk about Trump being assassinated. He is a lightning rod for desperate political factionalism. These factions feel in their bones that things are deeply wrong, and seek simple solutions. There are none. This is global resource depletion sapping the industrial growth engine and all of the leeches which cling to it, and all the people who eat food.
So pretend you are Chinese, and have a little distanced sense of humor when you look at the pitiful display of American political power struggles from now on.

This is what attracted Russia, especially for use in its war in Ukraine.”

Charting The Course

 Navigating,

A lot of overt injustice and criminality is apparent in the western world recently, and notably more so than before 2020, I'll add. I think everybody notices. People have noticed this trend for even longer, I think, but could lay blame somewhere, like "Trump" and keep on going. That hasn't slowed down. We are as politically polarized as I have ever seen. The shortages everywhere make everybody possessive and defensive. This explains so much unfairness and cost-shifting and blame-shifting onto other people or groups. Still, the corrupt economic system, increasingly unreliable, is still a system. It seems inevitable that the western financial system will overtly break in the way that the USSR broke and that China had The Cultural Revolution to place blame when its economy could no longer reliably meet basic needs. Cambodia caught that Chinese disease, too.
The western financial system has to break sometime, because it is based on growth of energy and resource depleting economy, with production of pollution, on a finite planet, but it is breaking now because growth went negative a few years ago despite every trick that could be played.
The name of the new game is "excuses to wield absolute power". We got "Pandemic", which played out. "War in Ukraine" has played out in the US, but it still seems to work on a lot of Europeans in the summer. Many will die miserably this winter unless the narrative changes soon. The US is trying "War against China" out, which should be versatile and durable, and should work for Chinese elites, too, as long as it doesn't get too realistic, but it has to be "realistic".
Surplus Energy Economics looks at our current economic cusp between  managing by scrimping and borrowing to  homelessness because you can't keep up payments on anything. This has been a very long time coming.
Most of the west had peak prosperity in real economic terms around Y2k, whereas globally (China) it peaked just before COVID, but it's in terminal decline because it costs so much to get energy and raw materials that wages have to be cut (factories offshored) which hollows out markets (workers buy stuff), and credit extension with falling interest rates has limits, which have been reached. All of the misrepresentations of real economy, like trading GNP (industrial output) for GDP (industrial output and lending transactions) is one of those. Lending money is as productive as making the car it buys.
The way that this plays out is that GDP probably overstates real economy by something like 40%. Debt, the promise of future goods and services is 250% of GDP, or roughly 4 times GDP. Debt plus financial services together are 8 to 9 times real economy.
This economy is an energy-expending system in a context of declining net energy, so the vast borrowing to live today can't be repaid with surplus tomorrow.

I'll continue this reasoning where it leads in the current global economic context, with a new economic bloc forming outside of western finance.
if financial and debt markets collapse, then notional wealth collapses to something like 12%, to real wealth. That 12% still requires a working economy, which just stopped existing,. When Chinese economy and the USSR were failing there was a parallel economic system somewhere that could patch-in. That's what western financial economy was for both China (got the better deal from Nixon & Kissinger) and Russia/USSR.
In our current setting the alternate global trade and finance regime is being laid out, and it's mechanisms agreed in treaties and meetings. The driving force to it will not merely be cutting out the skim of western finance, but the opportunity to default upon $US denominated debt, essentially all foreign debt. That is the payoff to take that big of a risk. That is also the death knell of the western financial system, when it happens. However, it will be a parallel financial and trade system that the west can then join.
That would be a rough transition, as China and Russia both had. However, the mitigation for the real economy would be that something like 3/4 of western debt is payable by the west to western financial interests, which are the interests of the top 1% for the most part. The key imperative would be to keep real economy from completely collapsing, to keep production from stopping, to keep factories and farms and cities operational.so that there could be a transition.
We can reason that financial elites (aka "rich people") want to prevent any such contingency plan from ever being formulated. Again and again it is pointed out that retirement plans would go bankrupt if the system were not supported, and that excuse has shoehorned-in vast wealth transfers to the most wealthy, both in 2009, and just recently. I see only the most wealthy having good contingency plans. I've got a vegetable garden, but I'll starve and bake or freeze without city utilities. Having guns won't even help. I've got no idea how this will really play out, but we seem to be in the lead-in to it.
What economics might be constructed after the $US system goes the way of the Confederate dollar? Losers always get predated upon by winners, and that gets really creative and vicious. Stories abound. Potatoes in the ground don't get stolen, but grain often does. You might get evicted, and lose access to those potatoes. What gives any of us "property rights"? I think I'd rather be in Yoakum than Chicago, but lots of small towns just stop existing during famines and upheavals.

Catherine Austin Fitts has an excellent research piece about a topic she has long been researching, the "missing $21 trillion". It's not just that the Pentagon lost a lot of money by bad bookkeeping as Donald Rumsfeld announced 9/10/01, the day before the Office of Naval Intelligence, where the books were being audited, got taken out by a freak terrorist attack that took out that team exclusively. The money also slipped away through HUD, which had a massive loan program, more loans than the total mortgage loans in the US, in fact. In 1994, the US Federal Reserve banking system (owned by big banks) bought stock in the (sovereign, it turns out) Bank for International Settlements BIS), which can't be audited, and which has opaque means to transfer wealth and assets.
The thought came to me that the elimination of the entire $US financial system would never answer these questions, but would make them moot.
After 21 years of watching $21+ trillion go missing from U.S. federal accounts at HUD and the Department of Defense (DOD), I am often asked,
“Where did the money go and how do we get it back?”

“Why is all this happening?” she continued, before answering: “Because of Joe Biden’s sanctions, which are nothing short of a modern day siege. This is a supply problem that Joe Biden created, one that Russia is now profiting from.”
“It’s not about the people of Ukraine or ‘protecting democracy’,” she declared. “This is about regime change in Russia and exploiting this war to strengthen NATO and feed the military-industrial complex.”
“To Joe Biden, it’s even about bringing about a new world order. ‘We’ve got to lead it,’ he says, and he’s trying to do just that, even if it means bringing us to the brink of nuclear catastrophe.”

Steve Kirsch (Don't look if you don't want to know.)
A doctor friend of mine in Canada heard about 15 deaths of Canadian doctors over the last 9 months. He’s been in practice for 30 years. He’s never heard of any such unusual deaths before of doctors. Zero in 30 years. Why is he now, all of a sudden, hearing of so many deaths, and why are these deaths all happening very soon after vaccination?
From July 13 to July 28, 7 doctors died… an average of one doctor every other day for 2 weeks straight. And the causes of death were statistically unusual: two died swimming (which is very rare), one died in her sleep (very rare), etc.
The fact checkers assure us all that all of these doctors died for other reasons; the fact that they all died right after the vaccine was simply bad luck. That’s not the right metric. The fact checkers need to tell us the last time this happened where 7 doctors died in 14 days from unusual causes. They cannot. This is unprecedented.

Tulsi Gabbard unleashes a torrent of facts in what most on the left in Washington would call 'conspiracy theory' and 'hate speech' pointing out the fact that everything from the IRS to the Department of Homeland Security is "blatantly being weaponized to target political opponents of those in power and anyone who dares to dissent or question or challenge their actions and policies."
By way of example, Gabbard notes that with regard to the massive increase in the size of the IRS, the messaging from Democrats is 'this will only apply to to the wealthy'. Well, as Gabbard points out, "that's only 1-2% of all taxpayers, so why in the world do they need $80 billion and 87,000 new hires in order to go after 1-2% of taxpayers?"
Simply put, she explains, "their math absolutely does not add up," which she says "should be frightening and concerning"  to all Americans, because "this means, they're coming after us - the entrepreneurs, small business owners, and the middle class hard-working Americans."
As Gabbard points out, "it's not a 'theory' that the IRS will abuse its power to go after political opponents, we have already seen them do it."
51% of all IRS audits last year were for those who earned less than $75,000, so unless they changed their doctrine, it's pretty clear the average American is going to feel the scrutiny of the IRS in a way they're not prepared for.

Ukrainian Troops Shell Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant
(Sputnik) - Ukrainian troops launched an attack against the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant overnight (8/6/22) , using an Uragan multiple rocket launcher, with shrapnel and a rocket engine falling at 400 meters (1,312 feet) from the station's operating power unit, the military and civil administration of the city of Energodar said.

Scott Ritter: One upsmanship on the human shield tactic. Shell a nuclear reactor after accusing your opponent of using it as a 'shield".
The Ukrainian attack on the Zaporozhye nuclear facility was, in typical Orwellian fashion, forecasted by the United States four days before it took place. During an August 1 news conference at the United Nations, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken accused Russia of using the nuclear facility as a base from which it conducted artillery strikes against Ukraine. Blinken declared that the act of firing artillery rockets from proximity to the nuclear power plant was “the height of irresponsibility,” implying that these rockets could land on the power plant itself. Blinken also added that the Russians were using the nuclear facility as a “nuclear shield” which prevented any Ukrainian attack out of fear of striking the nuclear reactors...
..The goal of this campaign appears to be twofold – first, to put Russia in a bad light, and second, to allow Ukraine to accomplish that which it could not achieve through military force – the eviction of Russian troops from Zaporozhye.

Following Speaker Pelosi’s caper in Taiwan, collateral damage is bound to multiply like the blades of a R9-X missile.
The first stage is the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) already having engaged in live fire drills, with massive shelling in the direction of the Taiwan Strait out of Fujian province.
The first sanctions are on too, against two Taiwanese funds. Export of sable to Taiwan is forbidden; sable is an essential commodity for the electronics industry – so that will ratchet up the pain dial in high-tech sectors of the global economy.
Chinese CATL, the world’s largest fuel cell and lithium-ion battery maker, is indefinitely postponing the building of a massive $5 billion, 10,000-employee factory that would manufacture batteries for electric vehicles across North America, supplying Tesla and Ford among others.
So the Sun Tzu maneuvering ahead will essentially concentrate on a progressive economic blockade of Taiwan, the imposition of a partial no-fly zone, severe restrictions of maritime traffic, cyber warfare, and the Big Prize: inflicting pain on the US economy.
For Beijing,/ playing the long game means the acceleration of the process involving an array of nations across Eurasia and beyond, trading in commodities and manufactured products in their own currencies. They will be progressively testing a new system that will see the advent of a BRICS+/SCO/Eurasia Economic Union (EAEU) basket of currencies, and in the near future, a new reserve currency.

Disinformation "Wins"

 Well Informed,

A lot of the battle for global dominance is disinformation. The side that has been winning the disinformation war is not winning the physical reality war.
What does that imply on a case by case basis?
Alastair Crooke, The EU Has Begun its Retreat. “First Steps in Unraveling Energy and Food Sanctions on Russia”
What is going on? The oil market has been volatile recently, as the US has tried to manipulate the ‘paper market’ (which is way larger than the physical market), in order to contrive a dip in prices in the Bent and WTI index. Again, the object has been to hurt Russia – and to facilitate Yellen’s ‘oil cap’ by getting prices closer to the $60 a barrel on which Yellen has set her capping hopes.
It hasn’t worked, and it seems the White House just wants oil prices down – full stop.  Even the hawk, Victoria Nuland, said Friday that the US and its allies need Russian oil supplies to enter world markets, otherwise the cost of this resource will start to rise again: “We need to see the presence of Russian oil on the world market, otherwise the shortage of oil will lead to a new rise in prices.”
Realism seeps in!  Putin achieves all his key demands in respect to the food crisis – and today, is even selling a slightly increased volume of oil.
The price of oil will indeed fluctuate. It will respond however, more to the effects arising from depth reached in the coming recession, than on market manipulation, and Yellen’s price capping efforts.  The western Establishment is still trying to get its head around the new reality that commodities are seen to have innate value, whereas fiat currencies such as the dollar don’t.

This is the case that 'somebody" is manipulating the oil data to make it look like nobody is driving this summer, and there is an excess, so prices drop by algorithms.
I have seen a lot of driving all summer. What have you seen? Mega truckstops are full of cars in Texas. When will we discover that there is actually no oil in the tanks at Cushing?
"Very Crooked Numbers": Biden Admin Accused Of Fabricating Low Gas Demand Data To Hammer Price Of Oil
As our friends at ForexLive point out, the trigger behind today's plunge in oil prices is gasoline demand, which as we noted yesterday, showed that for July, gasoline demand (on a trailing 4 week basis) slumped below 2020 levels.
Intuitively, ForexLive cautions, "that doesn't make sense. Yes, gasoline prices are much higher than 2020 but the world was in the midst of a pandemic and far more people were working from home in the summer of 2020."

Germany would have to start the process "yesterday'. Time is of the essence.

Poll Finds Only 1 Per Cent of Americans See Russia as a Major Problem

Moon of Alabama looks at China, Taiwan, US
Chinese military exercises will now be held around the island without regard for what Taipei claims as its borders. These missile launches, sea and air maneuvers will not be threatening enough to cause a dangerous military confrontation. But they will be repeated over the next years and will steadily move closer and closer to Taiwan's coast.
The median line between China and Taiwan, never officially recognized but adhered to, will now be ignored.
China essentially decided to boil the proverbial frog of Taiwanese independence by slowly, slowly increasing the pressure:
China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) is closing off six areas around Taiwan from Thursday to Sunday and is expected to hold drills, including live-fire exercises, in some areas within 12 miles of the island.
The drills are expected to be bigger than the missile tests China launched during the Third Taiwan Strait Crisis that was sparked in 1995 by the US granting a visa to former Taiwanese President Lee Teng-hui.
Both Chinese and American analysts believe that the unprecedented military exercises could become routine, a consequence of Pelosi’s provocative visit.
Taiwan depends on sea trade. The Chinese military maneuvers will essentially block it for the next few days. It is demonstration of what might come should China get really serious.
This military posturing will be aided by selected economic sanctions designed to remove the support for Taiwan's current pro-independence government:
China also imposed sanctions on Taiwan because of Pelosi, including a ban on the export of natural sand, and a halt on imports of fish and fruit products from the island.
A  ban on the export of natural sand, 90% of which Taiwan imports from China, may sound harmless. But if you live on a rock in an area prone to earthquakes you may want to build your high rises with concrete. No sand no concrete. Building costs in Taiwan will rise and the government will be blamed...

China has the initiative now. They can do this for weeks on end, then pause when they feel like it.
Can Taiwan/US/Japan regain the initiative? Voter referendum?
Taiwan says China's military has upped the threat level against it as People's Liberation Army (PLA) planes pressed ahead with their largest ever drills surrounding the island, following Thursday's ultra-provocative launch of eleven ballistic missiles in area waters, some of which were reported to have flown over the island and population of some 23 million.
On Saturday Taiwan's defense ministry said it observed Chinese planes and ships conducting attack simulation exercises while operating in the Taiwan Strait.

The City of London
“Hell is a city much like London.”
– Percy Bysshe Shelley

“Over and over again we have seen that there is another power than that which has its seat at Westminster. The City of London, a convenient term for a collection of financial interests, is able to assert itself against the government of the country. Those who control money can pursue a policy at home and abroad contrary to that which is being decided by the people.”
Clement Attlee, UK Prime Minister (1945-1951) and political opponent of Churchill.

The City of London is over 800 years old. It is arguably older than England herself, and for over 400 years it has been the financial center of the world.
During the medieval period, the City of London, otherwise known as the Square Mile or simply the City, was divided into 25 ancient wards headed each by an alderman. This continues today.
In addition, there existed the ominously titled City of London Corporation, or simply the Corporation, which is the municipal governing body of the City. This also still continues today.
Though the Corporation’s origins cannot be specifically dated, since there was never a “surviving” charter found establishing its “legal” basis, it has kept its functions to this day based on the Magna Carta. The Magna Carta is a charter of rights agreed to by King John in 1215, which states that “the City of London shall have/enjoy its ancient liberties”. In other words, the legal function of the Corporation has never been questioned, reviewed, re-evaluated EVER but rather it has been left to legally function as in accordance with their “ancient liberties”, which is a very grey description of function if you ask me. In other words, they are free to do as they deem fit.
Therefore, the question is, if the City of London has kept its “ancient liberties” and has upheld its global financial power, is the British Empire truly gone?

Charles Hugh Smith looks at the internal corruption in the Chinese economy, and why wealthy Chinese keep trying to offshore their capital. (The formats of corruption in the west are somewhat different, not less, per se.)
China At The Crossroads
As strategist Edward Luttwak observed, the funny thing about force is how limited it is in actual efficacy. Forcing capital and talent to stay put doesn't make people productive. It simply forces a choice: find a way to flee or just give up and stop working hard. After all, what's the point?
Every economy in which capital and talent can no longer count on predictability is an economy at the crossroads. As Luttwak explained, force is not the same as power, though many confuse the two. Power attracts capital and talent because they're being offered stability and predictability. Force tries to shove instability and unpredictability down everyone's throat and compels them to declare their undying loyalty for instability and unpredictability.
But capital and talent vote with their feet. If they can't vote with their feet, they just give up. Any economy in which capital and talent either flee or give up has only one possible end-point: stagnation and collapse.
In other words, watch where capital is flowing. That's pretty much all you need to know to predict the future.
(But those flows are "opaque' to us pawns.)

Numerous assassination attempts involving employees of the US Embassy in Caracas were exposed and thwarted.
According to the general, in violation of international law, the US was carrying out the activity to develop drugs that cause chronic diseases and trigger various forms of cancer when administered.
According to the Venezuelan side, such a drug was used to poison Chavez by Claudia Diaz, a member of the presidential entourage. With the help of US intelligence agencies, she left Venezuela and was subsequently taken to the US to avoid the possible disclosure of the details of her cooperation with the US intelligence agencies.
"The cause-and-effect link between the death of the Venezuelan leader and biological weapons developments is confirmed by the forensic expertise and evidence of Cuban doctors who treated Chavez about the atypical course of the disease and its resistance to medicines," Kirillov stressed.
