  Ellen Brown makes a valuable speculative foray into what the intentions of Fed Chairman Jerome Powell may be, which reflect upon what his read of the future of the global economy is likely to be.
The Real Goal of Fed Policy: Breaking Inflation, the Middle Class or the Bubble Economy?
  Ms. Brown opens by observing that raising interest rates will make life much harder for working people, who ​have already been pushed to the limits of their credit cards to cope with high expenses and low pay. Jobs will be cut. People cannot afford the expenses required to live in a place and commute to work. This is worsened by raising interest rates, but they could no longer be lowered, as they were effectively negative, lower than inflation. 
  Ms Brown focuses on a particular financial epoch, and speculates that it may be the intention of Mr. Powell to "End The Fed Put"​ , which began after the October 19, 1987 Black Monday crash of the stock market, and was called the "Greenspan Put" as long as he was Fed Chair, then the "Bernanke Put".
  The "Plunge Protection Team" of the Fed was put into place to prevent sudden losses of stock value following Black Monday 1987. They would purchase whatever needed to be purchased and extend credit, in order to blunt sudden drops in market value. This became a ratchet upward for stock valuations over time. What are "risk assets", when "the Fed has your back"? An "investing" entity would take on "risk" of a sort that would be backstopped by the Fed Put, investing in Too Big To Fail entities, which the Fed would be forced to support. This became a riskless financial investment, while the "investor" was "paid to take risk". 
  There was an appearance of a market, but the price-discovery function of any market is to discover when a business can't really pay its debts, and to sell it for much less, reflecting the reality of what the business can-actually-pay.​
  After 2008, the Fed had to do more than extend credit and buy some shares at times. The Fed had to buy massive amounts of bad mortgage debt to "make investors whole". Then there was no limit to what the Fed had to buy to "keep markets solvent".  In August and September 2018 there was a "Repo Crisis" in the market for overnight lending, collateralized by US Treasury Debt, among the largest banks and financial institutions in the world. They could not trust each other in this idealized setting. Counterparty risk was too high, but only they could see it. The Fed had to take over that lending function, also.

  Ms. Brown details that the parasitism engendered by the Fed-Put was that the financial system would continue to take more value over time, no matter what the real economy did, which progressively weakened the real economy, through bleeding it, and transfusing blood into zombie-companies to feed their financial leeches. This is the only financial ecosystem which a generation of investment specialists has ever known. I was working my first job out of internship on October 19, 1987. Anybody under my age, 64 would not have a very professional understanding of those events, having not dealt with them in real-time. Many financial specialists have entered their profession since September of 2008, and are even less connected with any real understanding of a functioning financial market for productive assets. 
  Risk has to be re-introduced gradually to avoid panic. Ms. Powell speculates, and provides many references in support, that Jerome Powell seeks to restore risk to "financial markets" until they are actually financial markets again. 
  The hostage held by Financial Elites is Retirement Benefits. The Ponzi scheme of retirement investments has long been supported at a level of 5% - 7% returns per year on capital. This has been true for decades, despite real economic growth averaging 2% or less in those decades. That can only be supported by a Ponzi financial structure. It seems that price inflation is one of the things which will lower expectations of retirement security. The ultimate economic fact is that the amount of wealth available in the US and other advanced economies, to support retirees, will be far, far less than what has been promised and is owed to them. How can that be revealed and dealt with gradually and stepwise?
  Still, the current parasite-serving financial structure continues to weaken the productive economy, which needs to restructure to align with reality, since reality is what feeds people and powers society.

  How can the physical economy adapt to preserve its primary function of effectively supporting human society? An essential step is to eliminate "Perverse Incentives", which have long existed, to take "financial risks" in risky-businesses, and to push the risk higher by extracting-value, knowing that some form of the public-purse would pay the profits and keep the zombie-company "alive" to provide blood to the leeches-making-the-decisions.
  Let's presume that parasitic control of economic management will cease, by  Mr. Powell's hand, or by inescapable fate. Some form of rational  economic planning and guidance will be needed to support human societies. Societal capabilities and the talents of members of society will need to be coordinated to produce what that society needs in a reliable and sustainable way. The baseline needs to be meeting the human needs of the members of society with the resources available, and in a reliable way, so that the meeting of future needs can be realistically planned.
  Parasitic interests have controlled government to create monopoly-spaces through regulations, which only their corporation happens to be able to satisfy. Monopoly profits accrue from regulatory-capture. Regulatory capture must be identified and eliminated, as it was in the "Trust Busting" years around 1900.
  Some of the monopoly-spaces being created lately pertain to man-made global-warming, which is a real thing, but the regulatory "solutions" being proposed will not work as advertised. Mainly the carbon-credit system will carve out financial profits, while choking productive economy. Other "green economy solutions" , such as electric vehicles, are seen to cause more environmental degradation than similar internal-combustion engine vehicles with efficient design, and they cost more, which is to say that they are also economically inefficient.

  A lot of effort will need to be exerted for the foreseeable future to distinguish efficient economic solutions from clever sales-pitches, and to choose wisely. 
Much of that work has already been done, but it is not publicized, because it is bad-for-business in the current business-climate. Here is a 1000 page example of good work assessing the prospects for a "Green Economic Transition". I spent an hour and a half skimming it. there are lots of excellent graphs, many I have seen before, and I am familiar with the analytical techniques. Charles Hugh Smith found this and sent it out.  
   Assessment of the Extra Capacity Required of Alternative Energy Electrical Power Systems to Completely Replace Fossil Fuels , 
  The initial presumption of this technical analysis is that the transition to green/sustainable energy sources, focusing on electrical generation, will be carried out as planned, and how that objective should be approached. This exhaustive technical investigation does not find any approach which can possibly work to achieve that end, due to shortages of current energy supplies (oil, coal, gas) and inadequate global supplies of necessary mined products like lithium and rare earth minerals. 
  All of the necessary resource requirements fall far short, not just one or two, but all of them. It is not possible, so it cannot happen, so "what's plan-B".

Fascism in the EU​ 
 ​Another epithet the EU governments and their most fanatical supporters such as Greens, Liberals and Social Democrats, like to throw at anybody who disagrees with them is “fascist.” This may actually be a bit like a fossil, an old leftover from a century ago when the left used to be attacked by uniformed street gangs, such as the SA in Germany and the Fasci di combattimento in Italy. Indeed, one may call such people nazis or fascists, if only because that is what they called themselves. But in a more objective sense, what are the distinguishing features of fascism as a political system? These include ruthless oppression of the opposition, censorship and control of every aspect of the lives of the citizens. The EU nicely fits that description. But the most important characteristic is that under fascism, both state and society are subject to the dictates of monopoly capitalism, in other words, of big corporations, including banks. This also happens to be the case in the EU. Whereas in nazi Germany and fascist Italy these corporations were called Krupp, IG Farben, FIAT, Ansaldo and so on, today they are called Blackrock, Vanguard, Amazon and Microsoft.
​  ​For many years now, EU legislation, taking precedence over laws enacted by national parliaments, is being written and prepared for passing by a veritable army of lobbyists paid by the monopoly capitalists. These hired hands outnumber the civil servants in the EU capital of Brussels.

​The price cap imposed upon Russian oil by the EU presumes a method of trading oil which does not exist in this world. Therefore, it is mainly preventing oil trades, by throwing a wrench in the trading system which does exist. The only predictable result is that less oil will be allowed to flow. Russia is better prepared than Kazakhstan at the moment.​
The oil price cap that came into effect last week was designed to keep Russian oil flowing into international markets while reducing Russia’s revenues.
While the price cap may have made sense on paper, it has proven to be confusing for oil traders who very rarely trade crude at fixed prices.
To add to these worries for traders, Turkey is continuing to ask for proof of insurance for tankers passing through the Bosphorus and Dardanelles, further disrupting supply.​..
​..Then comes the bigger problem, and that problem is that crude oil is just not traded under fixed prices, which is already causing headaches in the sector. In fact, oil is traded in such a way that it could often be impossible to comply with the cap, even assuming Russia would sell to cap backers...
​  ​“Physical traders rarely trade on a fixed price,” John Driscoll, chief strategist at JTD Energy Services, told Bloomberg. “It’s a much more complex space where they trade on formulas and spot differentials to a benchmark crude for the trading of actual cargoes as well as for hedging that follows.”

​  ​NATO is slowly falling apart. NATO is losing the proxy war in Ukraine and it is losing it badly. The people know it and it will have consequences. An increasingly authoritarian EU will follow the same path.
​  ​But there are powers in NATO that want to prevent that downfall. They will try to get NATO directly into the fight:

​  ​The official, Jens Stoltenberg, repeatedly cautioned in news media interviews this week against underestimating the situation in Ukraine and emphasized the wider threat President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia could pose to Europe.

​..It is bullshit but it is designed to push for NATO entering the war when it becomes obvious to everyone that Russia is wining it.​..
​..But Stoltenberg has one thing right:
​  ​Mr. Stoltenberg’s comments came two days after he said that Russia was intentionally stalling the war in order to prepare a renewed onslaught against Ukrainian forces next year.
​  ​Let us assume that Russia waits until March for its all out attack on Ukraine. In the meantime it continues to grind the Ukrainian army down without itself having significant casualties. The Ukrainian army will by then have lost another 72,000 men. That is probably a third of its current strength. By then its acute 'regeneration problem' will have become even more acute. It means that it will then be much weaker.

  The US Department of Energy is expected to officially announce the breakthrough Tuesday.
  The result of the experiment is a massive step in a decades-long quest to unleash an infinite source of clean energy that could help end dependence on fossil fuels. Researchers have for decades attempted to recreate nuclear fusion – replicating the fusion that powers the sun.

Google Censors Mass Murder

  I got a notification from Google-Blogger the night before last that "Stopping", the November 28 post on www.johndayblog.com had been deleted due to "violation of community guidelines". It is still available on the mirror Substack blog, which has not been censored  https://drjohnsblog.substack.com/p/stopping
This blog post opens with excerpts from another blog, which states that the increase in "excess deaths", clearly due to COVID-19 gene-therapy "vaccine" products is "mass murder". I have been getting away with referring to it as "culling the human herd" by the "owners", which is not the name of a felony.

  Elon Musk has been exploring the intricacies of censorship in social media recently. There is a lot more to come. 

  Until Spring of 2016 I just sent out my news email via bcc to about 200 friends. As I posted stories about the disenfranchisement of Bernie Sanders supporters in the Democratic primaries, my emails kept getting blocked and blocked , no matter how I tried to comply, so I got a blog, a Google blog, and it was not censored. I kept doing the bcc sends, too, and they all went through from 3 days after the November 2016 election, until shortly before the 2018 midterm elections. It happened again in 2020, of course, with the same pattern.
  On February 22 of this year I posted about the Ukraine situation, and both my blog, and our email (since 2005) were promptly removed by Google. We eventually got our email back, and a couple of weeks later Google replaced the blog post "Two New Countries", which had just preceded the Russian "special military operation" commencing.  https://www.johndayblog.com/2022/02/two-new-countries.html  The "community guidelines" probably got revised in that time.

  I now have 3 blog posts which Google-Blogger has deactivated-pending-my-revision, or now "deleted" in the case of "Stopping". "Stopping" does sort-of assert that our bureaucratic institutions are conspiring to commit an ongoing felony via medical injections variously recommended and mandated by governmental agencies.
  Some might consider that expressing such a political opinion should be protected by the first amendment of the US Constitution, as "free speech". Google, a private corporation at the global scale is not the federal government, nor is it the Chinese, Canadian, EU, Australian or New Zealand government, but it is directed by these governments to recognize "disinformation" and to censor it, so that people-don't-suffer-harm...
  I have read that in the US it is just as constitutionally prohibited for the government to protect a private entity to censor what it would be illegal for the government to directly censor. That stands to reason. 
  This might possibly make it to the US courts next year, if some big emergency does not happen first.

..Kingston says documents with the drug makers, FDA and CDC listed the deadly and debilitating “side effects” of the injections.  Kinston shows that vaccine makers gave a list to the FDA of “side effects” or “possible adverse event outcomes” from the injections.  Kinston says, “Common side effects should be muscle aches, headaches, fever and pain.  With these injections, common side effects are Guillain-Barre, . . . inflammation of your brain and your spinal cord, meningitis, stroke, narcolepsy, anaphylaxis, heart attack, myocarditis, pericarditis, auto immune disease, death, pregnancy and birth outcomes, fetal injuries, fetal mutations, spontaneous abortion. . . and vaccine enhanced disease​"​. . . . So, they knew this was not mild side effects.

Australia Concerned As People Dying At 'Incredibly High' Pace And It Can't Tell Why

Government's Fourth Branch

  This long and detailed article by "Sundance" follows the development, empowerment, and protection of the "intelligence branch" of government in the post-9/11 US. It is protected from any oversight, including from Congress. It is independent and cannot be overruled by the executive, nor overseen by the Judiciary or Legislative branches. It compartmentalizes all information to prevent members of these other branches from seeing and understanding its decisions and actions in any way which would impede them.
  It is possible that actions at the state level, particularly to secure elections, could still provide some channel of constitutional remediation, though the process would be long, and it is not being openly addressed for what it is. The Federal Government of the US is firmly controlled by an invisible entity, which is invisibly influenced by powerful people, who enjoy their own invisibility. I am leaving several topics out of this brief overview.

​..​The Intelligence Branch is an independent functioning branch of government, it is no longer a subsidiary set of agencies within the Executive Branch as most would think. To understand the Intelligence Branch, we need to drop the elementary school civics class lessons about three coequal branches of government and replace that outlook with the modern system that created itself.
​  ​The Intelligence Branch functions much like the State Dept, through a unique set of public-private partnerships that support it. Big Tech industry collaboration with intelligence operatives is part of that functioning, almost like an NGO. However, the process is much more important than most think. In this problematic perspective of a corrupt system of government, the process is the flaw – not the outcome.
​  ​There are people making decisions inside this little known, unregulated and out-of-control branch of government that impact every facet of our lives.​

The checks create silos of proprietary information, classified information, vaults of information that work around oversight issues. ​  ​Ironically, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence was created in the aftermath of 9/11/01 expressly to eliminate the silos of information which they felt led to a domestic terrorist attack that could have been prevented. Multinational Agrichemical Corporations and the Great Food Transformation
​  ​Powerful agrichemical multinational corporations have also furthered their own interests and agendas by exerting unprecedented influence over research and development in the food industry, while ignoring any findings demonstrating that their business practices were harmful to the natural environment. In particular, some of these major agrichemical corporations have focused their efforts and resources on studying “genetically modified organisms (GMOs), the creation of stronger pesticides and synthetic fertilizers, and defending the performance of these products.”
​  ​They have also supported the expansion of GMO crops with the knowledge that their cultivation involves “the application of larger quantities” of “synthetic fertilizers and pesticides,” which has led to large amounts of toxic chemicals contaminating soil and water sources. Basically, these agrichemical corporations have been largely responsible for creating many of same environmental problems that they now claim need to be urgently solved through Agenda 2030.​  (But they can just withdraw the chemicals for food-production, like what happened in Sri Lanka.)​
​  ​There is a real possibility that the radical and large-scale transformations of the entire food industry and human eating habits being pushed by the social engineers of Agenda 2030 are leading the masses toward a dramatic decrease in living standards. Lessons from the totalitarian regimes of the twentieth century revealed that it is very difficult to fix big mistakes attributed to the large-scale central planning of social engineers, because doing so often requires “major social transformation” or the “remodelling the whole of society,” which can result in widespread unforeseen consequences or events, major destructive outcomes, and “inconvenience to many people,” in the words of Karl R. Popper.

Generated by powerful, dynamic forces at the center of our world, our magnetosphere shields us from erosion of our atmosphere by the solar wind (charged particles our Sun continually spews at us), erosion and particle radiation from coronal mass ejections (massive clouds of energetic and magnetized solar plasma and radiation), and cosmic rays from deep space. Our magnetosphere plays the role of gatekeeper, repelling this unwanted energy that’s harmful to life on Earth, trapping most of it a safe distance from Earth’s surface in twin doughnut-shaped zones called the Van Allen Belts.
But Earth’s magnetosphere isn’t a perfect defense. Solar wind variations can disturb it, leading to “space weather” -- geomagnetic storms that can penetrate our atmosphere, threatening spacecraft and astronauts, disrupting navigation systems and wreaking havoc on power grids...

An excursion can re-orient Earth’s magnetic poles as much as 45 degrees from their previous position, and reduce the strength of the field by up to 20 percent. Excursion events are generally regional, rather than global. There have been three significant excursions in the past 70,000 years: the Norwegian-Greenland Sea event about 64,500 years ago, the Laschamps event between 42,000 and 41,000 years ago, and the Mono Lake event about 34,500 years ago.

​  ​The Polish "Mercs" told the Ukrainian Army Officers it would be suicide for them and the Romanians to go attack, everyone else who has done so has been slaughtered by the fortified Russian positions.
​  ​The Ukrainians then allegedly told the Polish either attack or WE will kill you for Mutiny, at which point the Polish drew their weapons and KILLED the Ukrainian commanders.

Tonga Eruption Blasted Unprecedented Amount of Water Into Stratosphere
​  ​When the Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha’apai volcano erupted on Jan. 15, it sent a tsunami racing around the world and set off a sonic boom that circled the globe twice. The underwater eruption in the South Pacific Ocean also blasted an enormous plume of water vapor into Earth’s stratosphere – enough to fill more than 58,000 Olympic-size swimming pools. The sheer amount of water vapor could be enough to temporarily affect Earth’s global average temperature.
“We’ve never seen anything like it,” said Luis Millán, an atmospheric scientist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California.

​  ​The unexpected radiative impact of the Hunga Tonga eruption of 15th January 2022​  
​  We find that the Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha-apai eruption produced the largest global perturbation of stratospheric aerosols since the Pinatubo eruption in 1991 and the largest perturbation of stratospheric water vapour observed in the satellite era. Immediately after the eruption, water vapour radiative cooling dominated the local stratospheric heating/cooling rates, while at the top-of-the-atmosphere and surface, volcanic aerosol cooling dominated the radiative forcing. However, after two weeks, due to dispersion/dilution, water vapour heating started to dominate the top-of-the-atmosphere radiative forcing, leading to a net warming of the climate system.

​  ​Record-breaking Hunga Tonga volcanic plume might have warmed Earth's climate​  
  ​The previously unassuming underwater volcano in a remote region of the southern Pacific Ocean exploded with unprecedented force in full view of three weather satellites. These satellites allowed scientists all over the world to observe the mind-boggling explosion in real time and study its aftermath in unprecedented detail.​..
​..​"We were really lucky that we had the area covered with three satellites," Proud said. "[The calculation] produced really nice results; it worked very well for such a high volcano. We've never seen everything this high before."
​  ​The calculation revealed that the Hunga Tonga cloud burst not only through the troposphere but also ascended through the entire stratosphere, only plateauing at the altitude of 35 miles (57 km), way into the freezing and dry layer known as the mesosphere. This makes the Hunga Tonga volcanic cloud the highest ever observed and most likely the highest in over a century.​ ​"The last [volcanic eruption] that could have reached this height was Krakatoa in 1883," said Proud.​..
​..​The Pinatubo ash in the stratosphere cooled the Earth's climate by 1 degree Fahrenheit​ ​(0.6 degrees Celsius) due to the presence of sulfur dioxide in the volcanic material. Sulfur dioxide reflects radiation and is frequently studied as part of potential geoengineering interventions designed to slow down climate change.
​  ​When Hunga Tonga  exploded, scientists thought the eruption could trigger a similar effect (which was, in the case of Pinatubo, observable for two years). Subsequent measurements, however, revealed that the Hunga Tonga cloud contained only about 2% of the sulfur dioxide generated by Pinatubo, not enough to affect the climate in any measurable way. Proud, however, says that the amount of water sprayed by the explosion into the stratosphere may actually warm the climate.
​  ​"This volcano put a lot of water into the stratosphere and also some into the mesosphere," Proud said. "Water in the stratosphere generally warms Earth's surface. So this could actually contribute to some surface level warming of Earth over the next few years. We have very good temperature data for the lower atmosphere, so that's something we should be able to figure out quite quickly."

  Why has Robert Malone MD attacked Peter Breggin MD and his wife Ginger Breggin, with a lawsuit for $25 million?
They seem to share common-cause in outing the dangers of the mRNA COVID-vaccines, with fairly minor differences.
  Dr. Malone does not sue those who call him a nut-case-tinfoil-hat-conspiracy-theorist for defamation, but sues Peter Breggin and his wife Ginger Breggin for "defamation" for their message that Malon's take on mass-formation-psychosis tends to let the elite owners, who pump it, off-the-hook.
Certainly, that can be settled better in a public debate... Such debate has been offered repeatedly.  Thanks Jay.
  I have to see this as both a form of censorship, which the Bregins cannot fight alone, as they lack the funds, and a divide-and-conquer technique.
  How has Dr. Malone been brought to this? 
Obviously, there are forms of coercion in our world, and those who are experts in their use.

As the pandemic wore on and "breakthrough cases" became the new norm, Fauci shifted to, "even if a vaccine fails to protect against infection, it often protects against serious disease." In May 2021, he referred to vaccinated people as "dead end to the virus." Today, as Fauci continues his push for more and more boosters unabated, even the New York Times is publishing stories carrying headlines such as, "Will Covid Boosters Prevent Another Wave? Scientists Aren’t So Sure." Vaccinated Americans accounted for a majority of COVID-19 deaths for the first time in August.  
​  ​Making matters worse was Fauci’s relentless disinformation campaign against the use of safe, effective re-purposed generic drugs in favor of high-priced, patented pharmaceutical products. Fauci dismissed critics as opponents of science, even at one point claiming to represent science itself. Yet when data have countered his preferred narrative, science has faced no greater foe than Dr. Anthony Fauci.  
​  ​For example, Fauci denigrated ivermectin, a readily available over the counter drug that has proven effective as a covid-19 treatment, despite his and the media’s constant citing of less than five of the 93 controlled trials in order to claim that ivermectin is ineffective. Ditto with Hydroxychloroquine, labeled as "dangerous" with "toxic" side effects, according to Fauci, who has provided no evidence to support his claims despite an even larger evidence base in support.

Some contain graphene, nifty self-assembling micro-circuits, which stop self-assembling when shielded from radio-frequency energy by a Faraday shield.​ Some contained something that magnets stuck to. Some have no mRNA at all in them, just empty little polyethylene glycol nano-bubbles with no Trojans inside. The foreign ministers duly “reaffirmed” that decision yesterday and left it at that.
​  ​However, their statement on the conflict in Ukraine emphatically stated that the NATO “will never recognise” Russia’s incorporation of four Ukrainian regions and underscored the alliance’s resolve to “continue and further step up political and practical support” to Kiev.
​  ​The NATO General-Secretary Jens Stoltenberg who is the mouthpiece of Washington, warned that despite Ukraine’s bravery and progress on the ground, Russia retains strong military capabilities and a large number of troops, and the alliance will continue to support Kiev for “as long as it takes … we will not back down.”
​  ​Such pronouncements betray the absence of any new thinking although developments on the ground are showing that Washington’s best-laid plans are floundering. And there are also growing signs of disunity on Ukraine issue among the US’ European allies and between the latter and the Biden Administration.

​  ​The Eurasia Economic Union (EAEU) is speeding up its design of a common payment system, which has been closely discussed for nearly a year with the Chinese under the stewardship of Sergey Glazyev, the EAEU’s minister in charge of Integration and Macro-economy.
​  ​Through its regulatory body, the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), the EAEU has just extended a very serious proposal to the BRICS nations (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) which, crucially, are already on the way to turning into BRICS+: a sort of G20 of the Global South.
​  ​The system will include a single payment card – in direct competition with Visa and Mastercard – merging the already existing Russian MIR, China’s UnionPay, India’s RuPay, Brazil’s Elo, and others.
​  ​That will represent a direct challenge to the western-designed (and enforced) monetary system, head on. And it comes on the heels of BRICS members already transacting their bilateral trade in local currencies, and bypassing the US dollar.

  One important point about inflation, when one controls the global reserve currency, is illustrated by the Fed's massive creation of money in 2020, creating massive inflation in the world, which the raising of interest rates is largely EXPORTING to other countries. Inflation management by cutting domestic wages has nowhere to go. People can't live on what is paid, already. However, raising interest rates by the Fed "strengthens" the $US, so imports become cheaper. Notably, oil, which is still mostly priced in $US is much more expensive outside the US, in countries whose currencies have depreciated against the $US.
  This will be different when the $US is no longer the global reserve currency, won't it?
