Following the embrace of President Joseph Biden and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the US has endorsed the Israeli plan to force the evacuation of the Palestinians from Gaza City to designated camps in the south. There Israeli forces will allow convoys of humanitarian aid to enter from Egypt and unload after Israeli forces have inspected the cargoes. The new southern zone will be cordoned off by an Israeli ring of fire, and everything north of the line, including Gaza City will be destroyed, hospitals included.
This formula has been pressed on Egypt, the other Arab states, China, and Russia to accept by the UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, a Portuguese government retiree, and his deputy for humanitarian affairs, Martin Griffiths, a British government retiree. They have emphasized there is no alternative to the destruction of Gaza, and its full absorption into the state of Israel. Reinforcing them, the US has cast its veto of all resolutions proposed in the UN Security Council (UNSC) by Russia, China and the Arab states to create humanitarian corridors under a ceasefire.
China is preparing a new UNSC resolution to face the US veto shortly, according to a statement by Zhang Jun during Wednesday’s UNSC debate in New York.
In Beijing, President Vladimir Putin and President Xi Jinping discussed between themselves what they plan to do jointly and publicly. “Over a cup of tea”, Putin told Russian reporters on Wednesday evening, “we talked for another hour and a half, maybe two hours, and discussed some very confidential issues face to face. It was a very productive and informative part of our meeting.” “Informative” in Russian means they were unable to agree to make a public declaration of a Sino-Russian action plan. Instead, Putin announced he is deploying supersonic Kinzhal missiles within range of the US naval and air forces positioned in the eastern Mediterranean and in Jordan. Andrei Martyanov has this about the Kinzhal missiles now circling over the Black Sea, carried by MIG 31 fighter-bombers. Kinzhal is fully autonomous once fired against a moving target like an aircraft carrier in the Mediterranean 600 miles away. This is not a system that the US Navy should want to beta-test for Russia. You will note my assertion that in this ongoing conflict not only are the neighbors of Israel preparing for an escalation at their own regional level but the global powers, meaning the United States and Russia, also have put their assets on the line and are ready to jump in at any time... As a veteran Kremlinologist, I can say with confidence that Putin’s readiness to finish off the American aircraft carrier task force in the Mediterranean if necessary had been discussed with and approved by Xi, who surely has his own concerns about the U.S. navy operating most provocatively in the South China Sea.

And in this case the ‘bankrupt estate’ – the holdings of the DTCC/Cede & Co. – includes all of our stocks, bonds, digitized securities, mortgages, and more.

..As for timing, Webb says just the movement in interest rates, from 0.25 per cent to 5.5 per cent, should have collapsed the market already. He thinks it is being held up artificially, while ‘they’ get the necessary systems in place.

So, we are seeing a major change of paradigm in the way we understand the role of forests and the whole ecosystem. And we may hope that other paradigms will change as well. Just as we can change the way we see trees from carbon sticks to parts of a living forest, can we change the way we see humans from monkeys with guns to members of a living society? Right now, it looks impossible, but who knows?
