Taking on Water,
A Greek owned, Liberian flagged oil tanker ran into the Destroyer, USS John McCain the night before last. (It was dark. Who could have known?) This happened in some of the most heavily shipped waters in the world, near Singapore. (The name of the Greek company is "Stealth Maritime". Weird, huh? Thanks Eleni.)
Even the mainstream media is forced to ask if the mighty US Navy is being electronically hacked.
Well, Duh! this is the second advanced American warship run into at night by a cow in as many months.
Jeff Stutzman, an ex-information warfare specialist in the Navy who works at a cyber threat intelligence company, told McClatchy that “there’s something more than just human error going on. When you are going through the Strait of Malacca, you can't tell me that a Navy destroyer doesn't have a full navigation team going with full lookouts on every wing and extra people on radar," he said.
The Destroyer, USS Fitzgerald, also based at Yokosuka, Japan, was accidentally gored in June by a big, slow container ship, whose crew desperately signaled the approaching impact for at least 15 minutes. The US Navy releases details of the rescue efforts to save the drowning sailors, and the successful save of the Captain, almost killed, and now relieved of duty in semi-shame.
My thoughts on these stories begin 3 years ago:
The USS Donald Cook (DDG-75) is a 4th generation guided missile destroyer whose key weapons are Tomahawk cruise missiles with a range of up to 2,500 kilometers, and capable of carrying nuclear explosives... On 10 April 2014, the USS Donald Cook entered the waters of the Black Sea and on 12 April a Russian Su-24 tactical bomber flew over the vessel triggering an incident that, according to several media reports, completely demoralized its crew, so much so that the Pentagon issued a protest [1]... As the Russian jet approached the US vessel, the electronic device disabled all radars, control circuits, systems, information transmission, etc. on board the US destroyer. In other words, the all-powerful Aegis system, now hooked up - or about to be - with the defense systems installed on NATO’s most modern ships was shut down, as turning off the TV set with the remote control. The Russian Su-24 then simulated a missile attack against the USS Donald Cook, which was left literally deaf and blind. As if carrying out a training exercise, the Russian aircraft - unarmed - repeated the same maneuver 12 times before flying away.
On April 7, 2017, two US Destroyers launched 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles (one wouldn't fly) against the Syrian Shayrat airbase. The US said it was a splendid success, that most of the missiles hit their targets, but the airfield suffered so little damage that it launched strikes later the same day. Russia said: The "combat effectiveness" of the attack was "extremely low";[40][41] only 23 missiles hit the base destroying six aircraft, and it did not know where the other 36 landed.[42][43]
My strong sense back in April was that this quick attack, based on the false premise of Syrian government nerve gassing it's people, served the purposes of showing Donald Trump as "strong", and in compliance with the will of the neocon establishment, while also testing Russian S-300 and S-400 air defense missile emplacements, against the ground-hugging Tomahawk cruise missiles. The US said the Tomahawks mostly arrived at their targets, but the Russians say most of them "disappeared somewhere". The US has not been acting like it owns Syrian airspace lately...
Last week, Congressman Dana Roherbacher met with Julian Assange at the Ecuadoran Embassy in London, to discuss Assange's proof of the origins of the DNC email cache, which is already established to have been insider-leaked (Seth Rich presumed), not Russian-hacked. Proving this could be negotiated into a Presidential Pardon, which would be a blow to the neocon establishment. Thanks Eleni.
Let's reflect on the imperial position at this moment in history.
The Western Empire is Global Banking, Global Multinational Corporatism, and American Military, ruled from the shadows, not by elected representatives, who simply support the structure and say things people like.
The American Navy is now openly exposed to every world leader as having a huge open hole in it's armor. The American Navy cannot be assumed operational against any advanced country, with links to Russian or Chinese military electronics technology, including Iran, Syria and North Korea.
America has no air superiority where Russian S-300 and S-400 missile systems are in place. American pilots are excluded from those areas, including Syria and Iran, unless they have permission.
Western finance and global multinational corporatism must have complete monopolies, or they disintegrate, so cumbersome, rigid and inefficient they are, for users. For the ruling elites, they are the necessary structure to maintain power.
Since the collapse of the Soviet Union, the neocons have taken control of the empire in a brutish and entitled fashion. Their tactic has been to destroy any country, not just the government, which opposed the hegemony of global banking and corporatism, using the imperial military (US, NATO, Israel)
Before he died, Zbigniew Brzezinski wrote that he considered the window of opportunity for a unipolar world to have passed. That means that Russian and Chinese interests have to be negotiated in this multipolar world, as do Iranian, and Turkish, and Indian, and Afghan, and Greek, and British and German and Hungarian and Venezuelan, etc. interests.
The neocons are a very blunt and unsophisticated gang, but they still completely control the American political system. They can't negotiate. They can only dictate and mass-murder and plunder. Their weapon to do that is now openly impotent. That is the weapon that sustains the global financial regime, which trades promises that are pervasively known to be ridiculous, but which are still the global reserve currency, for want of another.
The world cannot afford to use the weapons systems it has saved up, because that will end the world. The main threat to end the world was the neocon control of the empire, not the American people, or any people, anywhere. That threat is currently blocked on the global chessboard. The empire cannot risk attack on North Korea or Iran.
Time is so pressing in this historical moment, flowing into the final financial-regime collapse, that only negotiation can serve the interests of western elites (as well as Chinese, Russian, Iranian and Turkish elites).
Suddenly, there is a confluence of political interest of all global power elites, towards comprehensive negotiation of global trade and finance. This can't be negotiated by the current management group running the Western Empire, so it must be replaced with a group capable of carrying out complex multiparty negotiations. It will have to be taken down, first.
The Wikileaks DNC emails, backed by the Seth Rich murder, and the Pizzagate pedophile network, provide stepped threats to dissect out a network of maggots, which always assumed complete protection from investigation. This network acted with impunity. Once real investigation is opened, the whole network will fold quickly, to get some money and stay out of prison.There was never any honer.
Who can negotiate for the Empire? Rex Tillerson is competent, and there are thousands more competent within the corporations and banking, to negotiate the imperial interests of corporations and bankers.
What about the rest of us? That's not a table we'll ever sit at. We are still on our own.
